Desert sunlight chained to ceasefire

Hi,

I know when desert sunlight is chained to another card and flip effect monsters are flipped face-up they will start a new chain after the current one is resolved.

But how will that work out with ceasefire

situation.

Opponent activates "Ceasefire" I chain with "Desert Sunlight". My face-down monster (being "Cyber jar" and 2 Morphing Jar #2) are flip face-up by "Desert Sunlight".

Now do I get the efects of my monsters or not.

I would assume I wouldn't since "Ceasefire" negated these effects or am I viewing this all wrong.

"Ceasefire" will only negate the effects of Flip Effect monsters that are flipped face-up by "Ceasefire"'s effect.

In the scenario you described, the Flip Effect monsters were flipped up by "Desert Sunlight" (remember how chains work -- last card activated is the first to resolve). When "Ceasefire" attempts to flip them face-up, they are already face-up. "Ceasefire" will still inflict the appropriate amount of damage, however.

Once that chain ends, the Flip Effect monsters will have their effects placed into a new chain (and since you control both effects, you can choose the order in which they are placed, and therefore the order in which they resolve).
