Dimension Distortion on opponent's monster?

Dimension Distortion
You can only activate this card when there are no cards in your Graveyard. Select 1 monster that is removed from play and Special Summon it on your side of the field

Assuming the activation conditions are correct, can this be used to special summon one of your opponent's monsters which has been removed from play?

example:

Player A has used Banisher of the Light together with Level Limit B and Bottomless Trap Hole to stall and keep his Graveyard clean. In his Main Phase 1, Player A actvates Dimension Distortion, wishing to special summon Player B's Dark Ruler Ha Des, which had been summoned succesfully and then met up with a Bottomless Trap Hole.

Legal play?

It's a question I've never seen brought up before. While I see no reason why not (the text would suggest this to be a perfectly legal move) I've posted a question to the judge's list on it.

I posted to the judge's board, my question and the answer as follows.....

You can do that.
