"Divine Wrath" Vs "Dark Ruler"

"Divine Wrath" Vs "Dark Ruler"

I have a couple of of Questions that came up recently that I would like some help with.

1. Am I allowed to use "Divine Wrath" when "Dark Ruler" (or another fiend that is out on the field with it), destories one of my effect monsters in battle (thus negating its effect). I believe that since King Tiger Wanghu's effect is considered a triggered effect and that you can use "Divine Wrath" against it, then you should be able to use "Divine Wrath against "Dark Ruler" too.

2. Does Dark Ruler's effect work against "Peten the Dark Clown". I am asking this, because of a timing issue. When "Peten is destoried, it goes to the graveyard, but you can't even activate its effect until it arrives there. I know that "Dark Ruler" stops Witch, Sagan, and even Sinister Serpent when they are destoried in battle, but doesn't their effect activate as soon as they are sent from the field to the graveyard, while Peten must wait.
This is the timing issue that says that if I have Witch, Sagan, and Peten on the field, and they are all destroied by Cyber Jar, Witch and Sagan will get there effect, but Peten will not, since it have to be the last thing to occur or else you've missed the chance to activate its effect.
If this is the case then, how can "Dark Ruler" negate Peten's effect, when it can't even be activated until after it is in the graveyard. I believe that due to the timing on Peten, "Dark Ruler" misses its to negate Peten's effect, since "Dark Ruler" only negates effect of monsters that were destoried in battle. It doesn't say anything about negating the activation of those effect.

Any help with these Questions would be welcomed. Thank you all in advance for your time.

1. no, Dark Ruler's effect is a continous one and thus cant be negated.

2. If Dark Ruler attacks Peten I dont think you get Petens effect since it was negated by Dark Ruler's effect. But I may be wrong...

"Dark Ruler Ha Des" is not like "King Tiger Wanghu". The condition that "Dark Ruler Ha Des" and other Fiend Type monsters puts on Effect Monsters destroyed by them are lingering conditions. It can only be reset if the negated monster is revived to the field or return to your hand/deck. Not even "Skill Drain" will have an effect on the monsters that has conditions on them before "Skill Drain" resolves.

The negate effect condition works on all Effect monsters destroyed by Fiend Type when Had Des is out in the field. This includes Peten.

In addition, since its a condition, not an effect that is negating the Effect monsters, "Divine Wrath" can not be chained to it.

But, I'm not entirely sure about this: When a monster destroyed by a Fiend Type monster, at that point, the condition is place on the destroyed effect monster, is the event of placing that condition a Trigger Effect, in which you can chain "Divine Wrath"?

* sigh *

I have a CONTINUOUS effect. And therefore, I'm completely immune to Divine Wrath.

There is no choice as to whether I, or other fiends in my presence, negate effects or not. It is a condition placed on the field and all fiends by MY effect. Otherwise, a player could "Creature Swap" their "Sinister Serpent" to their opponent's side of the field and allow me to slam it and NOT negate it. Which is a big no-no.

There is NO ignition going on here.

And here is how my effect works:

I attack a monster and enter Damage Step.

1) If the monster is face-down, flip it face-up. This is where Kiseitai and Reflect Bounder activate their effects.
2) Compare ATK and DEF values accordingly (ATK vs. ATK or ATK vs. DEF). Continuous effects like Field cards, Continuous Spells and Traps that affect ATK and DEF of monsters, Spirit Reaper, Jinzo, Arsenal Bug, Goblin King, etc are applied here.
3) Destroy the monster (This is where I, and other fiends in my presence, negate effects)
4) Inflict Damage (if damage is to be applied)
5) Apply effects that activate when Damage is inflicted (like Mefist the Infernal General, etc)
6) Apply flip effects (poor Flip effects negated)
7) Send destroyed monsters to the graveyard and apply effects that activate when destroyed monsters are sent to the graveyard (this is when Peten and Newdoria would activate their effects, but unfortunately, they get negated) and effects that activate at the End of the Damage Step or after Damage Calculations (where D.D. Warrior is already negated)

That's right up there with those little kids who order their cards to attack...

Dark Ruler Ha Des, I choose you!?
Negate effect attack, now!

Yeah, I could see that... I really could.

Personally, I agree with all the rulings except for the Sinister Serpent thing. I mean, it activates on a completely different turn, from the graveyard. Even if you would use Divine Wrath against it, you can still just activate it again. It seems strange to me that Dark Ruler Ha Des would completely nullify a /continuous/ graveyard effect, like SS has, and the other cards mentioned in ruling #7:

If "Sinister Serpent", "Twin-Headed Behemoth", or "Marie the Fallen One" is destroyed by a Fiend-Type monster when this card is on the field, they will not activate on any following turn. So during your opponent's next Standby Phase, and each of his/her following Standby Phases, they may NOT move "Sinister Serpent" to their hand, Special Summon "Twin-Headed Behemoth", and they will NOT gain Life Points by the effect of "Marie the Fallen One". This negation continues even if "Dark Ruler Ha Des" is later removed from the field.

Twin-Headed Behemoth I could see, but SS and Marie are continuous effects in the graveyard, it just seems weird that Ha Des would completely nullify the card just from it being in battle. But heck, who am I to Question the rules?

Well, I negate the effect of monsters when I destroy them. Not "during the turn" I destroy them. For example, if I attack Sinister Serpent, stomp it and make myself a belt and send it to the graveyard, Sinister Serpent's effect will TRY to activate during your next standby phase, but since the last way she hit the Graveyard was by my attack, she cannot activate her effect.

Monsters' effects are ALL negated. If they can be destroyed before their effects can activate, their effects will be negated.

Well, you gotta look pimp-good when you're this evil. I got my Pimp Cup, my Robe with Cape and a cool hat with 2 bubbles on it. I got my stable with Necrofear and Infernalqueen.

All I need if my Snake Skin belt and"¦ maybe some fancy boots.

Now, where's that "Toon Alligator"?

Dark Ruler Ha Des - hey, where'd your japanese horns go..., lol

I had them filed down. I kept bumping my head when I walked by a doorway. I'd have to crouch and walk in sideways. It got annoying. I filed them down to smaller horns, but on my trip to the US, they wouldn't let me on the plane because the horns were considered weapons. So I took them completely off.

lol

I'm trying to quit. Went to BDA (Blood Drinkers Annonymous) and went through the 12 step program.

I came to realize that I was being abusive towards my wife, Necrofear. I'd beat her for no reason.

I wasn't a Fiend. I was a ugly, disGusting, horrible pig, like.... a Warrior, or something.
