Don Zaloog PGD-029

Don Zaloog
Effect Monster (Warrior / DARK / 4 Stars / ATK 1400 / DEF 1500)

When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, you can select and activate 1 of the following effects:
"¢ Select 1 card from your opponent's hand randomly and discard it to the Graveyard.
"¢ Send 2 cards from the top of your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard.

The leader of the Dark Scorpions. The stats may not be great but they're good enough. The effect though is what makes him the best of the bunch. It's not that hard to inflict battle damage with him and when you do, you get your choice of hand disruption or deck disruption. Plus given his stats, he does at least have a lot of ways to bring him to your hand/field. He's of 2 from the group that can work well in a non-Scorpion themed deck (the other will come tomorrow). He's a good card and can fit in with most themes. Like I said, the best of the bunch overall.

I personally think deck destruction is awesome, but isn't it a bit of a liablity in non-deck destruction decks? I mean you might be giving them a sinister or tribute monster to revive later.

Pros: You can still assure the wining hand of your opponent can crash without a card
or like wise the very needed card in the top of the deck is gone before they get it.

Cons: Th fact that it still depends on your decision, so best advice try to anticipate any backfire the effect an do on you later and be ready.

ive pulled 3 dons in my time, and they all seem to be quite useful. however, deck destruction has kind of shifted over to the zombies, with bone tower, vampires, etc. don works well in control decks as a replacement for those white magical hats which no one uses anymore. he also works in a chaos deck, and a warrior deck. dark scorpion decks obviously work well with im as well, but i still dont get why meanae cannot get him out... oh well. still, 2 cards from your opponents deck is a lot. imagine doing damage with 3 of him, plus a robbin zombie, you would take a total of 9 cards off your opponents deck. thats almost two needle worms!

forgot to mention one thing that bugs me about him:

japanese artwork is SOO much better. the guns pwn as opposed to two stupid knives. i mean, look at his fingers! you can see how his finger is curled, which is where the gun was being held... (and on dark scorpion burglars you can see his gun in a holster) (for crying out loud hes got ammo hanging form him! this guy means business...)
