double duels

Hi,

I've been playing these double matches a lot and there's one kid who keeps complaining about Raigeki. He's in a team with my brother, and I'm in the other team with a friend. Now suppose he activates Raigeki, what happens? I think he should choose one of us, whose monsters then will be destroyed. He says that all our monsters are destroyed because the card says: "destroy all your opponents monsters". He uses the same reasoning for Mirror Force.

What do you think?

Does anyone know if there are any (official) rulings for double duels?

This game really isnt a multiplaying type of game you know.

The whole multiplayer stuff just came up because it was seen on TV and so forth. but If i were to ever play Two-Headed Giant in Yugi I would most likely use the same rules used for Two-Headed Giant Magic.

their very easy to understand and makes sence since you are a team.

Teams should be able to talk about strategy else the syenergy in the game would be like wha??

Not to mention cards.. Imagine 2 Pot of Greed activated at the same time, both players draw 2 cards. jeez.

there is limitation that needs to go on. Like both players build their decks around the restriction list since both of them are playing as 1.

which would mean only 1 of them could have a Pot of Greed etc.. etc..

but again I would play differently from the rest since im used to playing Two-Headed Giant Magic. :)

1. P1 Draws, and summons Gemini Elf

2. P2 Draws and summons Berserk Gorilla, attacking and destroying Gemini Elf.

3. P3 Draws and summons Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, attacking P1 directly.

yea i have come across this... as well as the notion of "double Teaming...."

when i had to make up rules it went like this....

each player can only be the target of battle once per every round of turns direct damage is different

lets picture it as a triangle

A.___>>>___B.
_\_________/__
__\_______/___
___\_____/____
____\___/_____
_____\_/______
______C.______

thats the best i could do....

A plays his/her monster lets say... Mega Thunderball...
B then plays a monster lets say... Spear Dragon then attacks Mega Thunderball... end turn
C Cannot attack A but can activate any Traps or Spells affecting either player
so C attacks the B's defense position Spear Dragon...
A cannot then summon a monster and attack B even though B took no damage.... (this is because normally Spear Dragon would defend him against A's retaliation but if C clears it out of the way then thats gay and cheap)

this helps prevent double teaming...

but it makes people pay more attention to the field and to past turns...... same scenarios if a player A attacks and is foiled by C's trap card.... then next player (B) isnt allowed to attack C....

Any Questions...

the way me and my friends go by is "Attack to your left" " Defend on your right"

basically meaning we can only attack the person to our left hand side and oviously try to defend on our right hand side.

That's a good thought, as is what Chaosemperor12 said (I always knew he was a genius), but is really only effective if we assume nobody is playing burn, exodia, etc, or for that matter any cards such as Raigeki. But then, the essence of multiplayer duels is in fact in fun and not competition, so I really don't think that in-depth analyzation of the rules is the goal. IMHO, there's really only one rule to three-way or tag team duels, and that's: ONLY PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS. Friends you are in tune with, and friends who are willing to compromise with you, and even more so, who you are perfectly willing to just let something go with. Because there are inherent flaws in multi-dueling, and therefore, arguments will arise if it is taken too seriously.

I remember that circular outdoor table of the restaraunt near my karate school. I remember Randall, Sean, Thomas and me. Good times.

Most of all, I remember how the restaraunt owner didn't like us dueling there, but wouldn't push it cause we're all brown belts XD

I'm done now.

And its mainly because there are no rules for Double Team Duels, so there will always be an argument unless EVERYONE comes to a consensus on a Standard for Unofficial Double Duels.
Hence why I say to go through them before starting the duels, any rules you might use will be made up for the doubles dueling so it's best to agree on what rules and card rulings you want to use beforehand. There are so many varients of tag-team dueling that people are spoilt for choice and as such just because you play with one set of rules you shouldn't assume that others do to:
e.g. shared LP vs. individual player LP for the teams
or
draw only on your turns vs. on your turns & the turns of the player before/after you vs. on your turn and your teammate's turn.
