Draining Shield vs Giant Orc, Goblin Attack Force

Greetings from frozen Moscow Russia. Yes I am on vacation in Russia. Internet is very expensive here so I'll try and be quick. Hopefully this question hasn't been asked before. Player A attacks with either Goblin Attack Force or Giant Orc. Player B counters with Draining Shield negating the attack and gaining life points. Does GAF or Giant Orc still change to defense position? Thanks for the help!

The attack was negated, meaning, they never completed the action that would cause them to be turned to defense position.

Yes of course Lustermaster. The attack wasn't negated just the damage redused to zero.
