Did you know the there are two diffient texts to Elemental Hero Stratos it that they changed the text alittle form the japaness card.
The Japan's Text of Elemental Hero Stratos:
Text:
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can select and activate 1 of these effects:
- Destroy Spell or Trap Cards on the field up to the number of "Elemental Hero" and "Destiny Hero" monsters you control.
- Select and add 1 "Elemental Hero" or "Destiny Hero" monster from your Deck to your hand.

The UDE Card text of Elemental Hero Stratos:

- Destroy Spell or Trap Cards on the field up to the number of "Elemental Hero" and "Destiny Hero" monsters you control (not counting this card).

It perrty intresting why UDE changed the text little just to make the card alittle weaker.
 
That's how it's always been, it's no change really, probably just a mistranslation of the japanese text.

That's not the japanese text.
When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, you can select and activate 1 of these effects.
- Destroy Spell and Trap cards equal to the number of face-up Hero (not including Hero Kid, Oscillica Hero, or Oscillica Hero #2) on your side of the field, excluding this card.

-Select and add 1 Hero (not including Hero Kid, Oscillica Hero, or Oscillica Hero #2) from your deck to your hand.

That clarification was only made, because the romanized HERO text is only present for E-Hero and D-Hero cards in the OCG, so having "Hero" for us, would open up a whole new series of cards it would work with.
