Emergency Provisions, Banisher of the Light, Book of Life (Separate Questions)

I have two questions not related to one another.

1) Emergency Provisions: I don't HAVE to send all my Spells/Traps to the Graveyard, correct? Otherwise it would have been printed to say, "Send all Spell/Trap Cards on your side of the field..."

2) Banisher of the Light: Does his effect keep me from activating any card effect that would send cards to the Graveyard? For example, could I activate Graceful Charity if I had Banisher of the Light on the field?

Along the same lines, could I activate a card effect that would have me Tribute a monster (example: Metamorphosis)?

3) Book of Life: Could my opponent activate Bottomless Trap Hole on the monster I Special Summoned by its effect?

Thanks!

1. Correct, you choose of the number of Spell/Trap you wish to send to the graveyard.

2a. No, it does not.
2b. Yes, you can.

3. If the ATK value is valid of the summoned monster is valid, then yes, Bottomless Trap Hole can be activated.

You can send 1 or more, its your choice. You must have at least 1 legal card to send in order to activate, and you must at least send 1.

2) Banisher of the Light: Does his effect keep me from activating any card effect that would send cards to the Graveyard? For example, could I activate Graceful Charity if I had Banisher of the Light on the field?

It really depends on the effect. If the effect depends on the cards being sent to the Graveyard then no... if the effect does not depend on the cards being in the Graveyard then yes you can.

For example, Emergency Provisions cannot be activated while Banisher is face-up, as the number of cards that were sent to the Graveyard is specifically counted and used for the effect. (refer to Rule 9 for Emergency Provisions)

Graceful Charity on the other hand, is not dependant on card being specifically sent to the Graveyard itself. So you can activate it and the discards would be removed from play. (refer to Rule 3 : Kuriboh/Thunder Dragon)

Along the same lines, could I activate a card effect that would have me Tribute a monster (example: Metamorphosis)?

Yes, since you can tribute a Token, the monster going to the Graveyard is not a requirement.

3) Book of Life: Could my opponent activate Bottomless Trap Hole on the monster I Special Summoned by its effect?

Yes

As far as the second one goes the current ruling says you can:
"Kuriboh" and "Thunder Dragon" can be discarded from your hand and activated while "Banisher of the Light" is on the field.
So I would think you can still use Graceful.

And Bottomless would, indeed, destroy a 1500 ATK monster and remove it from play.

Not certain about the first one, but I would say your s/t cards are selected.

Well the purpose of these forums is to ask questions on cards and rulings... ;)
Besides it has its uses, e.g. a Gren Maju Da Eiza deck or as protection from Wave Motion Cannon.

I learned a good deal when I started playing Bannisher of the Light in my Fusion based deck. The first time I sent a Thunder Dragon to the graveyard I got a dumbfouned look on my face. Later I learned it didn't stop the effect, as a matter of fact it works even better that way with my Fusion based deck as I only use Fusion Gate and play 2 or 3 Return from the Different Dimesion in it.
