Enemy Controller question

I just want to make sure this works as I think it does:

Opponent has one or more Scapegoat tokens in face up defense position. I have D.D. Assailant in attack position. I declare an attack on a token and ask for a response (assuming that my opponent has one or more cards set in his spell/trap zone). Opponent declines. I then chain Enemy Controller from my hand to the declaration of the attack, switching the token to attack position, and D.D. Assailant destroys him and does 1700 damage.

This is all kosher, correct?

Alright, we really need to sum this up: (@#$% scenarios!)

Battle Step begins, turn player gains priority to respond.
P1 passes, P2 passes.
P1 now has priority, and declares an attack with it. This is something he / she MUST do, or else procede to the End Step. No more chains may begin before the attack.
P1 retains prioirty after a non-chainable event to respond.
P1 passes, P2 passes.
And on to the damage step.

Now for scenario #2:

Battle Step begins, turn player gains priority to respond.
P1 activates Ojama Trio.
P2 passes, P1 passes.
Ojama Trio resolves, and on to non-responsive window.
P1 activates Rush Recklessly (don't ask why).
P2 chains Rising Energy.
P1 passes, P2 passes.
Chain resolves, back to the non-responsive window.
P1 passes, P2 passes.
P1 now has priority, and declares an attack with it. This is something he / she MUST do, or else procede to the End Step.
P1 retains prioirty after a non-chainable event to respond.
P1 activates Enemy Controller.
P2 passes, P1 passes.
Chain resolves, and on to non-responsive window
P1 passes, P2 passes.
And on to the damage step.

Are we all squared away there?

XD You messed up!!!!! HAHHAHAHA!!

You don't declare an attack in the Battle Step, you declare an attack in the Start Step. XD That was the first mistake you made with that little example.

Re-write it man.

Really? XD This guy's chart is still VERY accurate. So yes, you did make a mistake on which step the attack is declared. Don't feel bad, there's a lot of mistakes all over this thread from the massive amount of confusion that has been slowly getting straightened out.

I do want to work with some of you in building a chart for the game phases and label where everything is. THAT will be one heck of a resource to have. >=)

EDIT: Errrrrrr my bad...XD God being wired on coffee isn't good when you're exhausted at the same time.

Was hung on that whole word of "Start" means the attack declaration...sorry about that. XD TOLD YOU there are mistakes..in this thread..lol

Yeah, we do. However, I have more bullcrap to bring up.....Hate me??? Boy, I would.. >=)

When you throw effects like Messenger of Peace into the situation dealing with priority. Does it come after or before you pay for Messenger of Peace? Messenger of Peace only says you pay during. This payment I would say eats that priority for the turn player.

>=) Yay!! More stuff to discuss about!!! I know you all hate me so much for my game phase theories...lol

I think that when you have a maintance cost like Messenger of Peace in a game phase, it will eat the priority up and create a response window...Oh no!! Not another one of those!! XD

Oh jee, look at me go. More theories to piss everyone off...I hate myself already. XD

I'm not pissed. That seems like a pretty simple question to me. Activating an effect during the standby phase involves ACTIVATING it. Like in any phase, that defaults priority passing.

I'm not saying something is being activated in the Standby Phase. I'm bringing up maintance costs. MUCH different from activating.

Any opinion on if Maintance Costs eat the priority in the Standby Phase? I would think it could, but they can be paid for any where in the phase itself. Don't know of a maintance cost that doesn't say, "during" in the text. After all, during equals within a period of time or within something.

Now is it as simple of a question?
