I bought some booster packs on ebay and one of them, DB1, only had 12 cards in it with no rare/super rare, etc. in it instead of 13 cards... the seller had one negative feedback in the past where someone charged him/her with resealing the packs...

It seemed fishy but I figured it's possible for the manufacturer to mess up from time to time and one of the other DB1 packs had an Ultra Jinzo in it :) So I was just curious if anyone else had ever had an incomplete pack from the manufacturer before.

Yeah. I had one pack of Flaming Eternity that didn't have a rare in it and only 8 cards. And of course, back in the old days, (sorry, could not resist saying that) Legend of Blue Eyes, Metal Raider, I remember getting test cards instead of a card and/or instead of a holo. So it does happen, just not too often.

Then again, there are some sellers who reseal packs. I would not think it about your particular seller though, being out of 2 packs you got one without a rare and one with an Ultra Jinzo ($20 card about). If they were a true ripoff artist (like one store in the STL area whose name will not be mentioned because of lack of proof, but most area players believe), you would probably never pull better than a rare. And a no good rare at that. If you did get a holo, it would be one of them noone wants.

What test cards ?

A test card was a card that had 4 big colored lines where the picture and text would be. (I'm at work and don't have mine in front of me, but I think it was Red, Yellow, White, and Blue?) The back was normal indicating it was a Yugioh card. If it was supposed to be a holo, said lines would be shiny just like a holo.

Yeah i had it happen to me with crv no rare super rare it had nne cards but they were all magic an trap an all commons

Those test print cards ruled. I heard they even came in holo form sometimes, lol

I've gotten packs with no rares in them before, and other packs with extra cards or multiple rares. Just two months ago I got an Aster pack that contained no rare at all from a twin blister-pack at Wal-Mart for instance I bought.

A few months ago there were a couple packs I got of one set that had extra commons, I just can't remember which set it was offhand.

Two years ago we got a Labyrinth of Nightmare pack that contained 5 normal rares in the same pack. Around the same time we got a Metal Raiders pack that had no rare in it at all, and another that had one of those test print cards.

It's much, much more common than you might think.

At Gencon 2005 (I'm pretty sure) one of my friends won a win-a-box tournament and got a box of CRV. Every pack that didn't have a holo was 5 rares and 4 commons. We were amazed at the time.
