Exarion Universe CT2-EN002

Dark/Beast-Warrior/4/1800/1900

Effect: You can only activate this effect during a Battle Step of your turn. Decrease the ATK of this card by 400 points, then during battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. This effect continues until the End Phase of the turn this effect is activated.

This week will be looking at the promos that came out of the newest set of tins. Today we review Exarion Universe. A strange name for a strange looking monster.

Ok, this card has stats of 1800/1900. That makes it a considerably strong attacker and pretty good defense monster as well and its a LV 4. What more can you ask for? A good effect? Sure.

This card has the ability to pierce enemy monster DEF. Its a beast-warrior so think of it as a mini-Enraged Battle Ox. And when I say mini, I mean it. This card has to go down 400 ATK points for this effect to work. You don't have to cut its ATK but then you won't get the effect. At 1400 its no better than a mad sword beast with some extra defense.

As a beast-warrior it benefits from the Enraged Battle Ox. With him on the board, this card doesn't need to "pay" to do damage through defenses. Although 1800 may seem like much its definitely better than 1400.

Another combination is wild nature's release. That puts this card at 3700 ATK. This move however should not be done without some certainty of it working. Clear the field first of any potential traps. At the end of the turn it'll die, if you an enraged battle ox or Metoerain in effect, it'll at least take a good chunk of life points with it. Or as an althernative you can use Interdimensional Matter Transporter to save it in the same this card saves machines after Limiter Removal goes off.

This card has one major flaw. Its own Attribute. He's a bloody dark beast-warrior. Beast and beast-warrior cards are mostly earth and contains cards to promote that: sogen, forest, and Gaia power and gaia power tends the one used more often. Gaia power however means squat to this guy. He's not a tree-hugger. He hangs around fiends/zombies and their field of choice: Mystic plasma zone. With his stats however, its ok to use the ol school fields. You'll have to if you want all your beast and beast-warrior to benefit from the field in question.

In the tradtional format, while its ok card, its effect is not that powerful. Now this ispersonal perference but I rather use Kycoo. He may have a deplorable defense but he makes sure Envoys and other RFG summons don't show their mugs on the field. 3/5

In advance format, this probably another good alternative to use in a Beast/ Beast-warrior deck. He has good ATK and DEF and the effect gives a the abiity to cut defenses without the Ox being around. 3.75/5

Nice review, Archfiendgeneral. Lol, I found myself chuckling a few times too...

I share your preference: I prefer Kycoo over Exarion. Both are still good in my eyes, but Kycoo I think fits in decks better.

Remember - Exarion + Reverse Trap is cool too.
