Me and DM244 were kicking this around and I don't think you will be so lucky as to be able to use Dragon's Mirror to bring him out. The current translations state he must be Fusion Summoned and Dragon's Mirror states it Special Summons the monster. I would say it looks like you need to get all them big lizards on the field.

Fusion summoning is considered a form of special summoning. At least thats what the book says if I can remember right.

I think you are right, insofar as it is not a Normal Summon which is limited to 1 per turn. But I am betting, and hoping, that for the sake of game balance it is strictly limited to Fusion Summons.

Dragon's Mirror
Normal Spell
Remove from play, from your side of the field or your Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Dragon-Type Fusion Monster Card, and Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon).

Try reading it again. Dragon's Mirror is perfectly fine for use with F.G.D.

Thanx for the anserw.

Doh! The noise you hear is me slapping my forehead for not reading all of the card.

<backpedaling fast>Although in my defense, actual card text has never stood in the way of contradictory rulings. :redface

Special Summon is NOT always Fusion Summon. Fusion Summoning is a type of Special Summon but not all Special summons are Fusion summons. However, Dragon's Mirror special summon is treated as a Fusion summon so it works fine with FGD. (Same as Miracle Fusion and Overload Fusion and upcoming Instant Fusion)

Stuff like Cyber-Stein, Metamorphosis, Hexes, etc. are special summoning a Fusion Monster that's not Fusion summoned. So those cards can't bring FGD.

So has anyone seen them in stores yet? I was going to try and swing by Wally World on the way home at 2am or so, but don't want to waste the trip if they are not in stores until tomorrow.

Why can't it be Five God Dragon?!
Because U.S. consumers are apparently offended by any religious reference in their card games. Thus Angel-Type monster are Fairy-Type in the U.S. and Demon-Type monsters are Fiend-Type in the U.S. Not to mention the removal of all halos or other religious-type symbols from card artwork...

The picture (and effect) seems to show the five dragons as Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Dark. I'm just glad the summoning requirements weren't one of each Attribute Dragon. That would really bite.

No luck either at my Targets, 3 Wally Worlds, Toys-R-Backwards, or KB.

Truthfully, it's more Konami's perception of what they think Americans are going to be offended by. Most of their edits are, clearly, not well thought out. In some cases the'll edit out one card thematic, only to leave it in on another card. I've even seen cases where an edit completely makes over the image, only to be replaced with something that they've consistently edited on other cards. It appears to be a very arbitrary decision on their part.

Oh, I agree. Personally, I think the average Yu-Gi-Oh! customer would have no problem with the artwork/symbols on the Japanese cards. I think UDE/Konami is just worried about offending some parents out there that think some of it is inappropriate for children so they can keep the "kid" customers.

If you look at UDE's VS System stuff, it's nothing you wouldn't find in an average Marvel/DC comic. I feel if UDE had a more control over the game, they wouldn't be as obsessed with making the game as "child oriented" as Konami seems to think it is.

When you consider the ridiculous censorship that most Asian countries have anyway, its a wonder that they even get to the point where something would be considered "bad" to even our standards.

But why take a chance on ruffling feathers in America and abroad, when you can just go overboard with the censoring, and the people who would remove books like the "Three Little Pigs", "Little Red Riding Hood", and "Hansel and Gretel" from School Libraries can keep their nose out of our game.

The thing is, that mentality keeps nosing in anyway. Parents feel the thematic of Yu-Gi-Oh! is too dark and brooding for children even with the edits. Do you know I've even talked to parents who wouldn't let their kids watch Pokemon because they thought it was too demonic? That one still has me scratchin' my head. (In that case, Barney should be demonic too)

Well let's see the different Dragon attributes:
17 Dark Types: At least Red-Eyes is here to have some playability.

10 Fire Types: Horus would be the main one here.

26 Wind Types: Ok take your pick here. Armed Dragon, Luster Dragon, Spear Dragon, Troop Dragon, etc.

13 Light Types: Blue-Eyes, Paladin, Mirage Dragon. Yeah there's support here. But we'll skip this one since Light wasn't one of the attributes.

Now, let's get to the last 2:

Earth Types: Currently there are 3
1) Two-Mouth Darkruler - Normal Monster, 3 Star, 900/700. Right this is useful.
2) Crawling Dragon - Normal Monster, 5 Star, 1600/1400. This makes #1 there look useful
3) Des Voltsgalph - Yeah right we all have this one!

Water Types: None
Read that again. I'll wait.

Ok. So right there, that kills the "fusion of all other non-Light types". So thank you for being just a generic any 5 sort of fusion. :)
