force of breaker rulings

Well when attacked it becomes face-up to apply its effect, most effects that destroy a face-down monster do not flip it face-up. "D.D. Survivor" plays by an odd rule that says in the text "face-up", now when it says that, it implies (according to Konami) that he has to be face-up when attacked to receive his bonus. Lastly, "Sangan", gets his effect in the graveyard, while the others don't really play by graveyard procedure rules and such.

Actually there was no "or" in the translations I saw. However, the rulings are consistant with the Japanese rulings (for a change).

So if you send Volcanic Scattershot to the Graveyard for the effect of Blaze Accelerator, and then send the other 2 there as well for the Raigeki effect, you will inflict 1000 damage (for the other 2), Raigeki the opponent's field, and skip your battle phase.

Note if you send Volcanic Scattershot to the Graveyard for the effect of Tri-Blaze Accelerator, and then send the other 2 there as well, you will inflict 1500 damage (1000 for the other 2 and 500 for the TBA effect) as well as the Raigeki effect.

so tri blaze accel is "a blaze accelerator card" then im assuming
so do you know why you would miss the first 500 of damage?

Correct.

Volcanic Scattershot's "500 burn" effect activates when it's sent to the Graveyard. Although the wording doesn't make it clear, it says that alternatively, if "Blaze Accelerator" sent it, you do the Raigeki thing.

If it wanted you to do the burn as well for Volcanic Scattershot, it would have said something like, "Also, if this card is sent to the Graveyard for the effect of a "Blaze Accelerator" card, etc.".

If Blaze Accelerator sends it to the Graveyard, you do the alternate (Raigeki-like) effect ONLY. That's the intention, although the wording could have been clearer.

Comparisons with Dark World monsters just goes silly, because their phrases are worded identically, yet Dark World adds together while Volcanic Scattershot replaces. It really is just a wording problem, I'm afraid. Just learn the intention behind the card. It's because Konami said so.

And while obviously not an official source, see this quote. It helps to convey the intention of the card.

Well, there's DMComet's translation:

When this card is send to Graveyard, deal 500 damages to opponent. However if this card is send to Graveyard by the effect of a [Blaze Cannon] card, by sending 2 [Volcanic Buckshoot] from your hand and/or deck to Graveyard, destroy all monsters on opponent's field.

The "However" means that the second sentence replaces the first.

I guess a better wording would be:

When this card is sent to the Graveyard for the effect of a "Blaze Accelerator" card, you can send 2 "Volcanic Scattershots" from your hand / Deck to the Graveyard to destroy all monsters your opponent controls. When this card is sent to the Graveyard in any other way, inflict 500 damage to your opponent.

Here's my question.

Can Volcanic Rocket search Tri-Blaze Accelerator? I hear it can't since it's says "Tri-Blaze". Kinda like E-Hero Captain Gold cannot search Skyscraper 2 - Hero City.

But man, some of these rulings are silly. I really hate the part that you can use Hamon with Crystal Beast ruling...
