Forced Req

How does Forced Requisition interact with Card Destruction or Morphing Jar or is there no interaction? Seems silly but I am curious.

Considering forced requisition was already active and you are going to make the opponent discard with it's effect this time, you would resolve card destruction/morphing jar, and then your opponent would discard x cards, where x is the number of cards you discarded by the effect of card destruction/morphing jar.

Otherwise, these cards would meet the requirements for the initial activation of forced requisition.

It seems after you both draw for the effects of Morphing Jar or Card Destruction, your opponent discards the same number of cards you did earlier.

Ok, then how's this for an interesting question.

If Forced Req. is a mandatory trigger effect, then how come it has a ruling that suggests other wise?

[Re: Night Assailant] If you have "Forced Requisition" active (face-up) and 7 cards in your hand during the End Phase (and one of them is a "Night Assailant"), and there is another "Night Assailant" in your Graveyard, and you discard your "Night Assailant" because you have 7 cards, your opponent must discard because of "Forced Requisition". Then you can activate the effect of "Night Assailant" to retrieve the other "Night Assailant". Now you have 7 cards in your hand again so you can discard "Night Assailant", and your opponent must discard again for "Forced Requisition". You can continue doing this until your opponent loses all cards in their hand.

Continuous effects are "active" while face up on the field. Mandatory Triggers have no such mechanics.

Please explain to me how Forced Requisition has a Mandatory Trigger effect.

The effects of "Forced Requisition" and "Appropriate" are considered to be Continuous Effects, NOT Triggered effects. Neither effect uses the chain.

I think the previous posting was confused as to the difference between effects that trigger vs. mandatory trigger effects. The ruling stated that "Forced Requisition" will trigger whenever you discard; there is no "missing the timing" once "Forced Requisition" is face-up on the field. However, Forced Requisition is a continous effect that "triggers" when the controlling player discards a card. It is not an effect that "triggers" when it is activated. Therein, lies the difference. Continous effect that "triggers" when a condition is met as opposed to a mandatory trigger that occurs at activation.

They said "trigger" with a minuscule "t". That's not a game term, it's just English. If they said "Trigger" (with the majuscule "t"), it would be the game term that means "activate and form a chain".
