Formula & Mineralogical Magneto Deck

Tiso

Calculative Duelist
Formula & Mineralogical Magnet

This is the deck I am currently using. Some people from my introduction post were interested in it so I decided to post it here. If I ever get around to doing a tourney of some kind this would be the deck I would use. It is of course Advanced Format adjusted and can play in that competetive setting:

Deck Name : Formula & Mineralogical Magnet
Deck Author : Tiso Spencer
Deck Total : 41

Monsters: 17

Tribute: 5
Non-Tribute: 12
Spells: 16
Traps: 8
Side-Deck: 15
I replace Mesmeric Control most of the time with Offerings to the Doomed or Rush Recklessly and I replace either Michizure or 1 Widespread Ruin for a Ordeal of the Traveler. I only use Mesmeric Control because I like the card, although for the most part I use Offerings to the Doomed as a safety measure if my Water Dragon was about to get Bottomless Trap Hole or I needed to use a Spell Card to get rid of a monster when I cannot use my Trap Cards to do the job. I use this deck in casual duels for the most part. It has won its fair share of duels against decks I did not think I would beat, like a D.D. Deck or people using OCG cards and the OCG Ban List.

I do not use Sakurestu Armor because I never liked the card and I try to not use cards everyone else uses. I like Widespread Ruin a lot more because it does not target and that allows it to escape certain monsters, I.E. Lord of D. that would make destroying Dragon-Type monsters with my Trap Card in that scenario. I am using Book of Moon for the first time ever because I realized the combos I could use with it from saving Water Dragon to using it for Hydrogeddon effect. I am not using Dark Hole only because I do not want to get used to it before it gets banned again, if it does.

I use Cyber Jar because it is a Rock-Type and because of the Draw and Special Summon(s) it allows me. The reason I decided to create my deck in this style is to allow myself options if one strategy fails. If Water Dragon is stopped, I can rely on Megarock Dragon, Magna Warrior, Luster Dragon #2 or any other combinations I can think of.

I share the same dislike of running cards everyone else runs. Though I currently run Sakuretsu Armor, its because I've been running it for years now, before it became so popular.

I'll bet a dollar you get a ton of responces tommorow (when most of our members wake up. ;)). I don't think anyone has a deck like this posted yet. It truley looks original.

I can't seem to find Mesmeric Control in the registry though. I was sure there was a card with name, but can't remember it.

It is not in the registery. I wish it was. They should start making a list of English cards that came out in other countries, for example Dawn of Destiny for Xbox. The game replaced Winged Dragon of Ra in the UK with Mesmeric Control. Just like how the UK version of Power of Chaos: Yugi the Destiny featured 2 extra promo cards, a black Kuriboh and secret rare version of the Dark Magician (tablet). I liked the DOD promos from UK because they were Super Rares. I dislike Secret Rares. They look good on only a few cards and the Promo cards look the worse in my opinion when it comes their foil text.

Mesmeric Control
Spell Card (Normal)
During your opponent's next turn after you activate this card, your opponent cannot change the battle positions of monsters.

This is just one of the many decks I have made with Water Dragon in it. Ever since it came out I have been researching the best deck strategy. I like how this one flows only because when Water Dragon falls, I can come back with Valkyrion the Magna Warrior or Megarock Dragon, or stall with Ordeal of the Traveler. I would use Sakuretsu Armor if it was not for the fact Widespread Ruin does what Sakurestu Armor does, to a degree. Would I use it? If I did, I would replace Negate Attack for it, and that is never going to happen since I love Negate Attack.

The last incarnation of my Formula Deck was focused on a Reptile-Type and Recycle strategy. I used Hydrogeddon and Oxygeddon's Dinosaur-Type to my advantage. I packed in 2-3 Des Feral Imps, which also served to return cards back to my deck, such as Hydrogeddon's that are in my Graveyard or other cards I could not normally return. I also used Don Turtle [x3] and Ultra Evolution Pill to help Special Summon Oxygeddon, Hydrogeddon, or Black Tyranno. Then there was the centerpiece of that deck which was the Spell Card Recycle. Protected me from Deck Outs and replenished cards I could use later on for a mere 300 Life Points each.

[Edit] It has recently been brought to my attention that Michizure does not work when a monster of yours is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle. I am probably going to replace my Main Deck Michizure with Ordeal of a Traveler, which will allow me to keep my 2 Widespread Ruins without a problem or I will use a different trap. Other candiates for the replacement: Magic Cylinder, Hallowed Life Barrier, Rope of Life, Seven Tools of the Bandit, Mirror Wall, Windstorm of Etaqua.

The deck that beat so many in DME.
As always it looks good tiso.
No real fixes, and of course you aren't going to want to hear me say the word "staple"....
I can't really help you fix it because it looks virtually "perfect". Probably the most competitivie looking charector deck I have ever seen.
I can give you a rating on it though.
9.5/10 nothing is "perfect"

Thanks. What a lot of my friends and people I dueled against have not noticed is that I have made this "Misawa" Deck more and more playable in competitive play with each incarnation. I really like how this incarnation flows. While I will have bad draws now and then, my Deck is amazing with the right cards still in my Deck and in my hand.

No problem.
Could you look at my deck ?
It's called [DA-5] Medevil Machines.
I also have articles in the Article section if you wouldn't mind posting your thoughts on those. I know they would help.

Could you give me a link to the [DA-5] Medevil Machines deck. I was in the articles section and I will look at your article(s) while I am there.

I noticed you posted a bit on my sad attempt at a "Water Dragon" deck. So I decided to return the favor. The name of this deck interested me. I agree with you on runnig cards that other people don't use a lot of, as I tend to do the same. This deck looks virtually perfect (as someone else pointed out) And I wouldn't mind going up against it some day.

Whenever I am free I will probably input it on YVD. This is about as close as I got to having Water Dragon flow in a good way with a Deck than just making a Water Dragon Deck.

so far the only major threat to Water Dragon is DNA Surgery. Making everything Pyro (or DNA Transplant to make them all fire), would also drop your Water Dragon's attack to 0 with its own ability. Other than that I like it... I might try something like that myself. I have a water deck I'll post in a bit once I get the time to get it all sorted out for posting. I'm trying Water Dragon with the frogs. (Dragonball Kermit??? still thinking of a name for it LOL)

That is not the biggest threat. The biggest threat for Water Dragon would be someone negating the Spell Card Bonding H2O, or someone using Bottomless Trap Hole on Water Dragon. Then there are the bounce cards that would just flat out ruin Water Dragon. Everyone are confusing using DNA Surgery with DNA Transplant. DNA Transplant is what you would use with Scroll of Bewitchment to keep Water Dragon at 2800. The problem is, in order for that combo to work you would need Water Dragon, DNA Transplant, Final Attack Orders, Scroll of Bewitchment, and probably Light of Intervention just to keep any surprises from coming at you. Then that leaves you 1 free slot left. For what? Magic Jammer? When I first went about my Water Dragon Deck, I went this route, did not work. You waste Deck space for useless cards. It was with Reptiles, like Don Turtle and Des Feral Imp, which allowed me to use Ultra Evolution Pill to Special Summon Hydrogeddon and Oxygeddon faster from my hand.

Either DNA Trap could reduce Water Dragon to 0 as it affects both Fire Main-type and Pyro Sub-type. Just throwing it out there FYI. Scroll of Bewitchment may provide a "change" in type but the DNA adjustment will just make it a "dual-type" as two cards are saying what the type is. (my understanding anyways, or the "time stamp" rule comes into play, i.e. Jinzo and Skill Drain, to determine what card gets "priority" over the other.)

You would use DNA Transplant + Scroll of Bewitchment in order to keep Water Dragon from being affected by its effect. The problem with this is you have to run a great deal of cards just for it to be worth while in the first place. I rather just focus on his 2nd effect over his first, which is why I do not bother with it. I think when people making Water Dragon Decks realize this, that too will go find something else to play. Using DNA Surgery would not solve the problem, but using DNA Transplant allows you to at least return Water Dragon to its original Attribute.
