i need this to cleared up 4 me i went to my friends hobby shop to show him my Skill Drain deck so i could get it fixed...
he see's 3 Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beasts and tells me that if i summon him with out tribute he's a 1400 atkr...if Skill Drain is later summoned its atk is no longer halved ok its 2800...
bu what i dont get is if Skill Drain is already on the field and then you try to summon fusilier you have to tribute summon?!?!?!?!
if thats the case then its not worth putting in 3 of them maybe just 1!
someone explain this to me

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can still normal summon Fusilier and when he hits the field, his ATK is 1400 but if you set him and then summon him next turn, his ATK is 2800. Then again, you can normal summon Fusilier and then activate Skill Drain which would change his ATK to 2800.

If you set a Fusilier then flip summon him his attack stays at 1400 it does not return to 2800. A face up Fusilier that has been summoned using its effect then is flipped face down will return to its normal attack and defence when flip back up.

You might have wanted to read the beginning of the post. It involved use of Fusilier in a Skill Drain deck and how to use the monster when Skill Drain is on the field. If Skill Drain is active and you flip Fusilier, his ATK is 2800 not 1400.

Simple rule with Skill Drain

If the effect of <a random card> is activated when the card is off the field then Skill Drain can suck big things.

If the effect is activated on the field and the monster itself remains on the field then the effect is negated.

So dual-mode summons normally and has 2800 and he kicks booty.

This should about cover it:

- If you normal summon Fusilier w/o Skill Drain on the field, his attack is 1400.

- If you subsequently activate Skill Drain, his attack becomes 2800, and it remains 2800, even if Skill Drain is destroyed.

- If you special summon Fusilier (e.g., with Call of the Haunted or Premature Burial), whether Skill Drain is on the field or not, his attack is 2800.

- If Skill Drain is on the field, you can use Fusilier's effect to normal summon him without tribute, since Skill Drain does not negate effects that activate in the hand (e.g., special summoning effects such as Fusilier's and Cyber Dragon's) or those that activate in the graveyard (such as Treeborn Frog, Sangan, Mystic Tomato, etc.). Once Fusilier is on the field, Skill Drain kicks in and his attack goes to 2800 and remains there.

- If Fusilier is normal summoned at 1400 and Skill Drain is not present, on the following turn you can flip him face down with Tsukuyomi or Book of Moon, then flip him face up again, and his attack will go to 2800.

- Since flipping him face down cancels the effect that halves his attack and defense, his defense is 2000 after he has been flipped face down. This is relevant if your opponent flips him face down with his own Tsukuyomi. If he is set face down when first summoned, his defense is 1000, and Tsukuyomi could kill him. But if he is normal summoned face up, and later flipped face down, his defense goes to 2000, and your opponent would take 900 damage if he attacked him with Tsukuyomi.

if some one flips it face down e.g tsukiomi and u flip it up it will boost 2 2800

Flip summoned, normal summoned without tribute, tribute summoned, special summoned, flipped face-up, WHATEVER. If Skill Drain is on the field, Fusilier WILL be a 2800ATK 2000DEF monster.
