I just heard a rummer.....sayign you can play as many fusions as u'd like, but i thought you can only have 20 different ones......please tell me what the truth is.

Well, take this one though:

Centrifugal Field
Field Spell

When a Fusion Monster(s) is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, the owner of that Fusion Monster selects 1 of the Fusion Material Monsters written in the card text of that Fusion Monster from his/her Graveyard and Special Summons it to the field.

"¢ Substitute Fusion Material Monsters like "King of the Swamp" cannot be Special Summoned with "Centrifugal Field" because they are not written on the Fusion Monster Card. However, if they were used as substitutes to Fusion Summon the Fusion Monster, you can still use "Centrifugal Field" to Special Summon the other Fusion Material monster from the Fusion Summon.

That is why I am more apt to believe that you can't use substitutes for Dragon's Mirror.

That only proves that unlike De-Fusion the summoned monster is tied to the "written on the card" aspect instead of the "used to fusion summon" that De-Fusion uses. The monster doesn't even have to have been used to get the Fusion Monster out. It just has to be "written on the card".

Apples and Oranges. Dragon's Mirror is another new way to Fusion Summon a monster, and as such is likely to carry with it the substitution rulings that the other Fusion Summon Spell cards have had, Polymerization, Fusion Gate, and I would expect both Dragon's Mirror and Power Bond to be able to use the substitutions as Appropriate.

sorry, remember when i was talking about my stomach hurting. i wasnt kidding. :(

lol, man anytime its late night, i get texts confused. sorry about that.

as mentioned its only the listed cards on the card.

so you cant substitute. also im not positive, but are the substitues's effect still active while in the graveyard?

I'm more apt to believe that any time a Fusion Summon is performed through an outside card effect, that Fusion Substitutes would be legal to use. Inside a monster effect I can see the exception.

I would bet they would be just looking at the Doriado ruling. And I guess we'll have to see what comes back from the judge's list if someone would be so kind as to post it for clarification.

I agree Rai,

To reinforce that Poly has the same text.

"Send Fusion Material Monsters that are listed by a Fusion Monster Card from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard, and Special Summon the Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck."

I will say the same thing i said on Pojo...

The only time subs cannot be used is if either the effect or the Fusion Monster Card itself has text that specifically states that you cannot use subs, or has a specific requirement that "only" the monsters listed can be used.

This card looks like a simple twist on Poly.
