Can fusion monsters such as Dark Paladin or the E-Hero fusions be summoned with the effect of Future Fusion? The card effect states that the summon, although special summoned, is still considered a "fusion summon".

Yes, because Future Fusion DOES Fusion Summon the monsters. As long as the monsters printed on the card can be sent from the deck, you can use Future Fusion with it (so cards like Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman/Phoenix Enforcer and Dark Flare Knight can't be used since one of the monsters on the card is another Fusion Monster. Same with Dragon Master Knight).

I had a question about future fusion the other day. Is future fusions sending monsters from deck to graveyard a cost or part of the effect? In other words, if macro cosmos is out, am I right to say Future Fusion could not be activated?

It's a cost. The monsters must be sent to the graveyard. Same requirement for Card Trooper.

Future Fusion is not a Cost. It is the same as Polymerization, which, coincidentally, is not a Cost as well.

"¢ [Re: Macro Cosmos] You can activate "Polymerization" while "Macro Cosmos" is active on the field because sending Fusion Material Monsters to the Graveyard is an effect of "Polymerization" and not a cost.
