Gilasaurus LON-071

I say why not? It's a great effect yet with a very high condition you have to deal with, your opponent gets special summon ANY monster in his graveyard in attack or defsense position. There always a way around a card, and my whole dueling career, that's what dueling to me has been all about. That's right ladies and gentleman, getting around card effect or using a card effect to perform the craziest combos ever. Examples like Jowgen+Last Turn, Magical Scientist+Catapult Turtle, etc. Back to Gilasaurus. Why play this card? Becuase it's effect is just to good to pass up,

- Works good in Necrovalley decks, your opponent can't benefit from the effect of your newly Special Summoned Gilasaurus.
- Special Summon Gilasaurus, your opponent revives his/her Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beggining, Creature Swap activate.
- The End of Anubis face-up, Special Summon Gilasaurus, then Tribute away for some monster you poses in your hand.
- Maybe you had just removed all your opponent's monster's in his/her graveyard? Special Summon all the Gilasaurus in your hand and attack, attack, and attack once again.
- Special Summon Gilasaurus, then Snatch Steal your opponent's Jinzo.
- Change of Heart, Enemy Controller, Creature Swap, Jowls of the Dar Dark Demise, it's all about tricking your opponent.
- Maybe you play some sort of Tribute Launch Deck, Special Summon 3 Gilasaurus, Launch all 3 away to deal 1500 all together with Cannon Soldier.
- And you know, you don't have to use the effect if wish not to, hey buddy it's optional.

There's probably some more uses, but I can't think of anymore. What else can you do with this card?

With the lack of big monster killers in the advanced format Torrential Tribute has become a staple. I'm sure we've all been in that situation where we have a Torrential Tribute face down and your opponent has 3 monsters on the field but is smart enough not to summon again and be content with his field advantage.

Special summoning Gilasaurus and then seeing if your opponent special summons from it's effect, then using Torrential Tribute to clear the field....and then of course normal summoning to switch the field advantage is yet another way to take advantage of this card.

It is, of course, an Earth monster often putting it in your graveyard gives you that Earth monster you need to remove for a special summon.

Works fine for Skill Drain decks as well; you get the special summon, Skill Drain negates his effect, no special summon for your opponent ;)

I love Gilasaurus. Back when I played an earth. I carried two of these guys. I like seeing the look on my opponent's face on when I use his special ability on the first turn; meaning they get sqat while I get two monsters on the field. Usually I used that normal summon to bring forth a good tribute monster. I also then used Spirit of the Rock. So when I tributed Gilasaurus, I had something to RFG Spirit of the Rock. It be pretty useful in a dinosaur deck as well. You can bring out those heavy dinos like Black Tyranno or the other one (I forget its name).
