Gilford the Lightning
(LIGHT/Warrior/8/2800/1400)
If you Tribute Summon this monster by offering 3 monsters on the field as a Tribute, destroy all Monster Cards on your opponent's side of the field.
Now that we know he's being released in the tins, why not review him?
Gilford's stats are pretty good for 2 tributes. 2800 ATK is nice, 1400 DEF isn't too bad, and also is Witchable, so that's good. He's a warrior, so he's able to be returned via "The Warrior Returning Alive", and he's LIGHT, so that's Chaos, Zerato, and Solar Ray food. But all of that aside, let's look at his effect.
We've seen something along the lines of this before in a monster called Moisture Creature, but Moisture Creature differs in the fact that it destroys spells and traps, not monsters. Let's look at the rulings for Moisture Creature real quick, since they'll probably be the same for Gilford:
3 monsters can be a tad hefty to summon for this guy, but it's a lot easier than you think. Actually, you can accomplish it in one turn: Marauding Captain + Kaiser Seahorse. Bada-bing, bada-boom, we kiss, we hug, we're done. There's also Venus + 3 shine balls (or 2), 3x Statue of the Wicked + Heavy Storm, Stray Lambs + a monster sort of, etc. So that's not too difficult. Destroying all of your opponent's monsters is a huge plus, but some people would probably prefer doing a Lightning Vortex as opposed to going to all of the trouble to summon Gilford. His effect makes him just like the Monarchs - Good when summoned, then potentially useless except for a high ATK. Unless you want to bounce him back to your hand and prepare 3 more tributes.
Ratings:
Traditional: 1/5. You've got Lightning Vortex, Raigeki, and Tribe, but you want more? No.
Advanced: 2.5/5. Too hard to do without a load of trouble, and the effect only happens once.
Advanced Gilford Deck (see SpikeKaiba for this one): 3.7/5. Probably easier to use and abuse here.
