Guardian Sphinx

If I prematur burial Guardian Sphinx can I Flip it face down and then Flip summon it Im not sure. I know i can flip it face down but i wonder if i can flip summon it.

Premature Burial Special Summons the monster in face-up attack. If you used the effect of Guardian Sphinx to flip it face-down, that would be a position change from attack to defense, and you could not manually change the position again during that turn.

There are actually two reasons you may not flip guardian sphinx face up after fliping it face down in that senario.

The first being, as was said earlier, a monster who's position changes by a card effect loses it's once per turn manual position shift

The second reason is that Guardian sphinx was special summoned in that turn. A special summoned monster does not have a manual position shift the turn it is special summoned.

So basically you never had a once per turn manual position shift to lose in by switching guardian sphinx's position by a card effect in the first place. this doesn't matter in the situation given though.

I have another question about Guardian Sphinx (and cards like it).

If you have a face-up defense guardian sphinx on the field (not summoned / changed battle positions), can you flip it face-down by it's effect, then flipsummon it and again flip it face-down?

I've heard some contradictions about it. I think that you can flip it face-down again, but I want to be sure.

I knew that I could flip it face-down the first time, I just wanted to know that I could do it 2 times in a turn. I've heard from some people that that effect doesn't reboot. I'm glad that they were wrong ^_^

Oh man sorry about that.... :( i read the question right, but forgot to read GS's text...

You're right, the effect can only be used once per turn.

So you would only be able to flip GS face-down once, and then Flip Summon it. You cannot use GS's first effect again since you already used it.
