This week we're featuring cards for a particular decktype: Rescue Cat deck. That's right. The cat's outta the bag and today's its in the form of Gyaku-Gire Panda. Hear me out before you start complaining that "a panda is a not a cat."

For those of you who don't know what Rescue Cat does, it allows to special summon 2 LV3 Beast monsters from the deck to the field by tributing Rescue Cat.

This panda is perfect for the effect for various reasons. Not only does it fit the requirements for Rescue Cat but it also has two good effects that make it particular useful when the opponent is in control of the field or not.

When the opponent has 1 or more monsters on the field this card's attack increases 500 for each one. So even with just one monster its at 1300/1600 really. Two or more and it beats if not matches most LV4 attackers. So, if by some chance you find yourself being swarmed (and with this decktype you want to, to a certain extent), this card is the solution. It punishes players that like having such a large force on their side of the field (Warriors, zombies for example). You could also be devious about it and use Ojama Trio when they declare an attack. Whoa, its at 2800 ATK now. And those ojama are easy pickings next turn because of the second effect.

The second effect ties in to first. This monster cuts through defense. With just one monster it'll deal damage to anything with a def of 1200 or lower. The more monsters the opponent has, the more pain he's going to get for each monster destroyed through battle.

There are many ways to take advantage of these effects and still promote the Rescue Cat theme.

One card is Gaia Power. That means this card will already be at 1800 just for one monster. As such most of the monsters should be Earth-type as the ones that will be reviewed this week. LV3's are usually small (as you'll want them to be for a particular card being reviewed this week) with a few exceptions like Des Wombat, anyway.

A stall card would also work wonders. Since this monster (as most of the monster you plan to use for Rescue Cat's effect) is LV3 , Level Limit type b (best one for this particular monster), and Gravity Bind protect your monsters from getting stomped on before they can grow enough to surpass most non-tribute monsters. Level Limit will put them in a battle position most favorable for this monster and a good deal of monsters commonly use have a good attack but a poor defense.

Ojama Trio works specifically for this card. Its a good for a surprising ATK boost and to take cheap shots at whithering down the opponent's life points.

Giant Rat could also be useful in this decktype. This decktype basically means maintaining field presence at all costs and this card definitely promotes that. In fact most of the monster summoning should be happening through Rescue Cat and a particular spell card.

There are some other key cards for this decktype but since they have not yet been reviewed I'll refrain from mentioning them.

Weakness? Its ATK growing effect depends on the opponent's number of monsters. All the opponent has to do is control how many monster he has on the field to control this card's own growing ability.

At 800 ATK its fodder against one of its own sub-types: King Tiger Wanghu. If you come across a beast deck be on the look out for it.

In the seal format, consider this common card a backup when the opponent field presence gets too big. However it will get shot down by easily by Shadowknights which are just as common. It would need to be able to got up against three monsters in order to take one on.3/5

In traditional, Its no better off than in the sealed. Here however it also has to deal with a lot special summons. The support it needs can crumble quite easily since mass removal is so present in this format.

In advance format, this card in the Rescue Cat decktype would be very brutal. This card takes cares any monsters you come across that are too big for your other beasts. Believe me, this guy in a Rescue Cat deck can get quite huge. 4/5
