Wow. Just wow. It's not so much that the endings are shocking. It's that they are never what you expect. Remember....

[higlight to read][/highlight to read]
how could you not expect that? ;)
if peter's powers are what they are implying, then it's pretty cool.
i did check the online comics. there's only three so far, and are pretty short. each one has a little "more" story from the tv episode, but the comics themselves do not flow on their own. and you'll have this unnatural urge to buy a nissan versa...

I don't think Calire's dad is the bad guy. Rather, I wonder if <highlight to read> he might be the one to actually get them all together. He obviously isn't Syler, moreover, he doesn't "do" anything to the heroes he gets, unless he supes up their powers more. "running tests" is all he says. Nope, in typical thriller format, I think he will turn out to be a good guy (or reasonable faximile).
But, that's just me.

Interesting idea, DLoC, and one I wouldn't disagree with. While we are talking about possibilities, I think that somehow the son of the girl with the split personality (both of their names escape me at the moment) will somehow have a power manifest before it's all said and done. And at just the right time, too. Perhaps to "save the cheerleader." Incidentally, I certainly wouldn't mind being her knight in shining armor. ;)

Not only that but it seems pretty obvious to me that the kid's father has some kind of ability. I figure invisibility or some such. I mean, he keeps giving the cops the slip. In the preview his son said, "Mom has a secret too" which could just imply that the dad's secret is that he is there, but??? Also in the preview, you get to see her (alter ego) send the dad through the wall!! My kinda woman (except for the sleezy). We will see. Very much appreciated the three hour fest Sunday night. Got me to thinking, I need to tape these things and rewatch them for clues.

I had a theory. Just a theory.

>>I think Sylar is killing super types. The Indian doctor feels that these genetic mutations are evolutionary. If that turns out to be true storywise, then only a few people from a particular generation would undergo the genetic change, and then all they would do is pass it on to their children. Sylar might be killing, or feeding, off of super types. That would make sense since he's obviously tracking them, and he did kill the painter in the future Hiro experienced. And if that is true, then it would make sense that he went after the little girl in the FBI office after killing her parents. The little girl possibly even has a defense against Sylar.<<

But again, that's just a theory. Every so often I'm right about these things. :D

I agree after all I didn't see the little girl's parents brain drained, and I don't think Syler would go after her just because he can ID him ('cause I don't think she can). As for Syler, he is definitely doing some serious Brain sucking. I figure that maybe he can absorb super powers by doing something (eating) with the brains of supers. He seems to have a lot of powers already-telekenesis, flight, regeneration- but then again, he was called patient-0, or something like that. He may be the original mutant and have a lot of, if not all of the powers already. As for passing it on, it could be like Harry Potter, some get it and some don't-you know how genetics go. Maybe the girl is the next Firestarter (1984-ala Drew Barimore, daughter of Heather Locklear and David Keith). Maybe it was a genetic experiment after all and not evolution, I mean come on....how can you predict genetic evolution on a world-wide basis to that degree of surity? That must be one heck of a computer program!!
Oh, one more thing of note, I have a real problem with the heroine guy, but it isn't it interesting that now with the help of the senator's brother, he won't need to shoot up anymore...does the brother's mind link work for more than just his brother???

YADA!!! I got it.....I know what the senator's brother's power is!!! I was just watching it online again and found this: His ability isn't that he can fly like his brother, his ability is that he can pick up anyone else's super powers by being in their presence (or maybe just seeing them). Notice, he can only fly when he is with his brother (episode 3), in this episode, he picks up the painter's ability, but also notice what he says...."I was able to draw one of these when I saw you yesterday, but only in stick figures." !!!!
Also, isn't that guy that goes around with the cheerleader's dad also the ex-husband of Niki (the women with the son)?? I would need to see the previews for next week to be sure, but my friend says they are one and the same.
<edit> Saw the previews and the end of the show again, it is!

Actually, the top of the dad's head was chopped off. Remember when Matt was wandering through the house looking for the voice in is head, he passed the dad, who apparently lost the top of his head while eating corn flakes. The mom on the other hand was pinned to the wall.

I'm thinking that because of that, the parents were both special and since they were around the same age as almost all the other "heroes" or close to Claire's age. Which would mean the little girl would be a second generation "hero". This would also mean that Micah, Niki's little boy, would be second generation as well, having at least one special parent.

I don't think the mind link works for everyone. I think all we saw was his power replication process at work. Much like Mimic from the X-men comics.

That would be right. Last episode he mentions this to Mohinder. That his power must be to duplicate others.

I thought they looked similar, ut I don't think their the same. Consider this pic I just found on NBC.com: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4563/heroes1fe1.jpg

I don't get it. How does the picture show they aren't the same?
and how long will the need-to-highlight-to-read thing going to go on for? if people don't want things spoiled, just don't read the thread before the episode (which is what I had to start doing). though I do appreciate the consideration.

You guys are really into this show, huh? Perhaps I should, um, <activity omitted> so I can watch it and see what all the hubbub is about.

That's the father posed with the regular cast, rather then as part of the adversarial cast. They don't generally pose those kinds of characters together. We also hadn't gotten a good look at the father, so I posted that as a way to compare what we'd seen of the mindbender guy. I don't think their the same guy, hence to picture so you could make a deterination with the same info I had.

Of course, I could always type like this, instead. ;)

word, the Mrs and I agree about "fly boy's" abilities. the 3 hour maraathon allowed us to catch up and also see a few new things

I would recommend it. Very good hubbub. I have not heard a major bad thing about the show from anyone who has seen it.

Which abilities are these? The Senator's or the ex-Nurse's?

I thought the visual effect of the flying and landing in Vegas were fantastic. Seemed more "realistic" than previous flying scenes like in The Matrix or Smallville; at least how I would think flying people would "move".

I also really enjoyed the flight sequences. I thought it was really cool when he landed outside the diner and skidded to a halt.

Anyone else really worried about the cop? His wife's gonna freak out again I'm sure.

no, the senator's brother
ah, then it looks like we're all on the same page. I liked the way they developed his abilities; a twist that you didn't expect.

I'm trying to guess what they "wiped out". I thought the order was to take everything, but it seems like he only forgot the past day (opposed to the high-school boy who seemed to lose nearly everything); and he can still use his powers.

Yeah. It's odd. We'll find out next week I suppose, lol.

I hope that kid is well...better once he's forgotten everything. Kinda don't think he will be though. Or maybe the wipe will awaken a power in him?

Also, anyone here watch Lost as well? If you do, be sure to watch the next two episodes!
