It usually happens sooner than this....but I liked the list this time around and thought it provided (generally speaking) for a wider range of decks to be competitive....but it always happens, usually about 2-3 months after a new list is made active. What is "it"? It is a point, sometimes in the middle of a match, when I just can't stomach it anymore, I just can't stomach seeing the same cards over and over again. It doesn't matter if I'm winning or losing the current game/match, I just conceed, unable to bear one more turn of seeing the same cards appear over and over and over.

This time around (the current list) I actually played some. I think I pulled my ranking from something obscure like 98th in Iowa up to 13th. (no wonder eh? It happened when I was 13th <laffin>) Most often I play obsure deck types just to throw something different into the usual mix. I entertain myself with an occasional underdog status win with a deck few have the audacity to play in a tournament. Cheap thrills....but oh so fun when you make an opponent's jaw drop <corners of my mouth curling up in a devious grin>

It happened though just as I knew it would. This time though at least it was only a couple of weeks before the next list comes out. Last night I plotted my revenge.....not the ulimate obscure deck type....but oh so close was made in the wee hours of the morning.....Dinosaurs.....yes, you read it corectly <beaming> They won't see it coming.......except.....I just posted this <banging my head agaist the wall> Oh well....it'll be fun just the same!

<dancing off like a kid with a new toy once again>

But... You mean pure Dinosaurs or can you add some Retails to the mix.

I have being testing a Dinosaurs deck since Tyranno Infinity came out; they have a lot of potential.

the look in your opponent's face is priceless when you turn a "Poisonous Snake Token" into a Black Tyranno

I don't have the list at hand, so i re-made it now, and made to changes to fit it to the new ban.

It looks fine, very fun to play with if you don't I would like to tweak it a bit, just use your as a basis for something of the sort with a little twist

Mine wasn't all that far off from yours, I decided to use Giant Rats though to maintain field presence and special summon a number of my Dinos.

I didn't have any Sakuretsus or Smashing Grounds left without breaking down some of my other decks so it's light on monster removal, it could certainly use some fixing up there.

I was tempted to use Pot of Avarice but I didn't want to regret it later once I had a Tyranno Infinity in my hand or wanted to use Skull Lair. Instead I opted for Morphing Jar and Card Destruction.

<EDIT>
After spotting Card of Sanctity in a thread....I'm pondering using it in this deck.

It gets so tiresome indeed facing the same stuff all the time. Not to the point of conceeding, but often to the point where if someone is playing CC/strict meta, then I just won't play casually against them. If I have to play against them in a tourney, so be it, but why bother otherwise?
At my local games shop we have been training the CC'ers into running less usual cards by just not playing with them otherwise. Seems to work, although there have been a few casualties on-route.
That said, we are seeing quite a few interesting ideas cropping up, including Ordeal of a Traveler, Light of Intervention and Mask of Restrict; not to mention some extremely oddball multifunction decks. Makes for some very interesting games :)

Havent seen any dinosaurs yet though. *sigh*

Hmmm....Rfdd with Dark Driceratops or two sitting out of play is tempting indeed not to mention Tyranno Infinity. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see how it play as is tomarrow and make adjustments, I'll certainly give that a try eventually.

<EDIT> After viewing another thread Gigantes might be a nice additon as well. While it's not a Dino it will remove a Dino from play, it's a special summon, and it's a good decoy for what will come next turn if I put it out there infront of a Cyber Dragon or Mobius. G'head knock him down in battle and I'll summon Tyranno in my next turn.

Well, played the Dino deck last night. It performed about as I expected. It was just straight 4 round swiss and the deck went 2-2. I did take pride though in playing something orginal <satisfied smile>

Though the deck was to slow to develop to it's win condition I was surprised by a couple of things, namely, Gaia Power and Mad Sword Beast. Those two cards gave more people fits than anything else in that deck. Either Giant Rat or Mad Sword Beast when combined with Gaia Power can be kick in the pants.

Though I likelly won't play the deck again until a bit more support comes around for it, the inspiration was made to make a Earth trample deck. In the current meta in our area it would fair pretty well I believe, granted, that may very well change with the next list.

One little trick I learned while playing the deck though, If you already have a set Skull Lair leave it there until you summon Tyranno Infinity. At this point Tyranno's atk value is a big fat 0 making it ineligable for Trap Hole or BTH. Now activate Skull Lair and use it's effect to clear a monster or two away and Tyranno's atk goes up. Quite honestly I used Skull Lair more on Spirit Reapers more than anything, I wasn't so concerned about taking a lp hit as much as I was concerned about losing the cards out of my hand, namely, Tyranno Infinity. Heck, I didn't even mind taking a 4000 lp swing at an unprotected Sangan, if you're going to have them searching you may as well make it really sting before they do!

It was a fun deck and it did it's job, releaved me of bordem temporarily.

Mad Sword Beast is especially nice against Spirit Reapers. I have also found D.D. Crazy Beast to be an unpleasant suprise for others, especially with Gaia Power. And of course, it is fetchable with Giant Rat.
Did you really want to set that Sangan? And what is that 1900 attacker doing to your chaos fodder?

Did Ultra Evolution Pill ever sneak in to help out with some high ball Dinos? I'm glad you got a diversion John, I know we all need one. I still have this Water Bombardment deck idea in my head that I want to make one day to essentially abuse the heck out of Orca-Mega Fortress. Kind of a Dark Ruller posessed Shamu type thing 8^D
