As my first post in the Duelmasters section of CoG, I want to review the most splashable Spell in the game...Holy Awe.
Here's how it breaks down:
Holy Awe: Spell (Light)
Cost: 6
-Shield trigger (When this spell is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it immediately for no cost.)
Tap all your opponent's creatures in the battle zone.
Anyone who's ever played Duelmasters extensively has seen Holy Awe in action on more than one occasion, and you know just how gamebreaking it can be if the Shield Trigger ability is utilized. For those of us that play or have played Yu-Gi-Oh!, Holy Awe is essentially the equivalent of Mirror Force, which speaks highly of its effectiveness. Now, Holy Awe is quite deadly on its own, but with all the effects that let you manipulate your shields, Holy Awe approaches the "broken" status. Although you'll normally see it in used mostly in Light oriented decks, cards like Emeral (BAM!!...sorry), Sundrop Armor, and Mana Nexus let you exchange or add shields all for 4 or less mana apiece. That means you could potentially play off-Light (like Water and Nature) and just splash in Holy Awe for it's emmense field maniplation ability. I'll post a deck that illustrates the strategy later on.
Holy Awe is possibly the single most effective Spell in the entire game because, unlike other powerful Spells like Terror Pit or Natural Snare, it affects the entire playing field while potentially giving you mana advantage over your opponent.
(Hmm...not bad for my first post here I guess. :headbang_ )
