I've heard of this "Horus, the Black Flame Dragon LV8"+ "Royal Decree" is this theme good for the Big Championships? I'm thinking of making one because I've finally gotten 2 more Decrees and I'm planning to go to a Championship or 2 in the near future.
I'm not sure about it though because it's made up of LV monsters and all, and last I checked the LV monsters weren't that great the Big Leagues (except "Mystic Swordsman LV2").
 
Horus can hold its own if the deck is built right. I am revamping my right now and don't have the perfect build. This new list actually helps it now that chaos is gone. Two exiles hurt though.

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of the Horus & Decree lock. Together they have a great control factor, but all it takes is a simple X-force or one of the D.D.'s to run into Horus 8. However, if you can control them without the use of Decree, then Forced Back and Solemn's will be helpful in preventing the monster issue.
 
i agree with blade, and some of atrus ideas, but u could run..
King Tiger Wanghu to help get rid of thos pesky exiled.. (thats if what im think is right, exiled would not get the chance to tribute its self.)

If I use the equip card "Wicked-Breaking Flameberge-Baou" it can take the D.D.'s out without problems. And the Tiger hmmm...I'll think about that because it would stop Exiled Force and Spirit Reapers too.

I've just tried the Tiger and it works!!! I don't know why it didn't reach the meta!

as u know there are many rules to to tiger, if the monster is on the field before tiger or is flipped summoned then the monster below 1400 is not destroyed, it also has the chance of kill ur own monsters so u need to play alot of 1500+ atk higher monsters if he's out on the field, otherwise u loose ur own monster.

but im personaly thinking of decking him, with the threat of 2 exiled.

If you summon a "Sangan" you get a free monster from your deck. But that is a major problem with the entire being affected.
 
yeah, it's a bit more safer to run Seven Tools instead of Royal Decree, and pack alot of Trap protection against monster effects. Or just get King Dragun out with Horus lv8 and they can ONLY solve the prob with traps. (Cause practically all monster destruction/removal effect targets. All D.D. Exiled, Newdoria, Night Ass, etc. all targets.) Yeah, King Dragon/Horuslv8/and Royal Decree is like the ultimate lockdown, but that's too complicated so IMO don't pack 3x Decree and run trap protection and Counter Trap with the focus of trap/summon negators.

To get King Dragun, there's two easy way.

#1: use Cyber-Stein
#2: Use Fusilier + Meta. (This works wonders for Armed Dragon BTW, since that thing needs high ATK mosnter for discard.)
 
horus lv8 + decree is awesome... seven tools is horrible compared to decree first because of the cost second because of the durability... i've made my tournament level horus deck public in the advanced format deck called 'Silent Horus'... personally i think its one of the best builds made for a horus lockdown... generally a flaw of this kind of deck is its lack od speed and the possibility of dead draws... i think my deck has eliminated the majority of that so i hardly ever come across such problems... with a horus deck generally if horus lv8 dies, some people think that your strategy is broken but that isnt always true... like with any deck, you need backup plans and ways to recover your losses... i am dissappointed that i havent seen any horus builds lately but i do think they can be up there with the rest of the best... you just have to have an open mind when you build your deck and treat your sidedeck like your main deck, giving it the same amount of attention to counter anything you face.
