Horus the black flame Dragon LV6 & Spell Canceller VS Level Limit - Area B

Hi
I've been :bishop:
because of this question:
I read in netrep that Spell Canceller will be pushed into DEF-position before attempting to negate Spells.
Now the question is:
Will Horus LV6 do the same or will it stay in ATK because it can't be affected at all?
I already had some little argues on other forums and noone really knows so
I'd be happy about a 100% sure answer, thx!

Same thing happens to Horus LV6 if you summon him with Level Limit on the field, it's turned to defense position and then it's effect comes into play, negating Level Limit for itself.

Remember, you will not be able to turn it to attack position that turn (then again if you summon via the effect, then you won't have to worry about that anyways because you wouldn't be able to in the end phase).

Same thing happens though as in Spell Canceller and Level Limit Area B

Could you explain this to me a little more?

If Horus isn't affected by Magics, how would Limit Area B even switch it's battle position?

The effects of Continuous Spell/Trap cards resolve first before the Continuous effect of a monster that was summoned to the field.

I see now, so is it safe to say that current conditions on the field will always affect new conditions that are coming into play?

Actually, there is a difference between Horus Lv6 and Spell Cancellor.

Spell Cancellor will try to negate an effect already onthe field but not able to due to the effect already being in place.

Horus Lv6 however will come on to field, and Level Limit Area-B will try to shift it to defense but not able to because it is unaffected by spells.

Thats just my take.

I understand that point of view and it does make logical sense.

I guess the question would this then: When does the effect of a card like "Horus LV6" or "Guardian Kay'est" come into play? As soon as it hits the field, or after the pre-existing Spell/Trap cards resolve first?

Dlanaan?

From the mailing list:

Is "Horus The Black Flame Dragon LV6" affected by "Level Limit - Area B" when
Horus LV6 is just Normal or Special Summoned in face-up position, without any trap
negating his effect?

Answer:

"Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" is not affected by Spell Cards. Due to this, it
will not be affected by "Level Limit - Area B" and will not be forced into
Defense Position.

So Mortals, you were indeed correct with this one. So then if a monster is immune to spells / traps, that would take presidence over a continuous spell / trap on the field while a monster whose effect can negate all spells / traps (Spell Canceller / Jinzo) is subject to continuous spells / traps before their effects resolve.

erm just one little last question:
will this be taken into the online netrep for everyone available to read?
Because people tend to argue VERY often in this situation (as I saw on the other forum)
and when you can just tell them to read "Horus...LV6" in netrep then they have to believe it. :D

i agree! it's the same in italy!

well you can direct them either to this link on the forums, or to the UDE Mailing List web site (lists.upperdeck.com) since that's where I copied/pasted the e-mail from.
