Even though the answer is no, you might want to read up on when effects can be activated in the Battle Phase, and specifically the Damage Step, as this is the foundation to knowing when and what type of Trap Cards can be activated for certain Situations.jostam said:if mine hydrogeddon destroys a monster, can my opponent chaine with torrential tribute when a special summon another hydrogeddon?
Because it's like watching the Sun Set. If you don't see it when it happens, just because it did, doesnt mean you can say you witnessed it happen.Dr Sin said:Just a quick one about Hydrogeddon too:
Its text is:
When this card destroys an opponent's monster as a result of battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Hydrogeddon" from your Deck.
Why if he destroys a spent Breaker he doesn't activate its effect, and it's a little strange to me. Didn't he destroyed and sent to grave a monster as a result of battle? It sounds like the only conditions to trigger its effect. Shouldn't its text say something like: and remains face-up on the field...
Okay, probably I'm missing some important point, but I would like some clarification...
Thanks...
It doesnt matter that Hydrogeddon cannot use his effect because he is destroyed. Both cards go to the Graveyard at the same time, so again, he will not be on the field when his "Optional Effect" would be activated.Kyhotae said:Actually, it doesn't trigger until the card is sent to the Graveyard after being destroyed by battle. At that time, "Hydrogeddon" is also destroyed, and destroyed monsters have no effect.
This is true. However, there are two possible scenarios too look at when Hydrogeddon attacks Newdoria and when Newdoria attacks Hydrogeddon.skey23 said:The effects will actually form a SEGOC chain with the controller of "Newdoria" being Link 1 and choosing the monster to destroy with "Newdoria"s effect at activation. Since "Hydrogeddon" will be link 2, it will resolve before "Newdoria" can destroy it, so the next "Hydrogeddon" will still be special Summoned.
Hope this helps!
