Bringer of Doom
Yeah i was at a yugioh tourny this weekend. Yesterday specifically. There was only 5 people there and i came second out of them all. I came close to winning but it ended up with me playing against a burn deck. I also had a burn deck. Should i be let down or should i be happy that i came second out of 5 people.

Sometimes, even the best has to come in second place at least once a year.

Seahawks vs Steelers, Steelers
Mavericks vs Heat, Heat
Tigers vs Cardinals, Cardinals

Who had the best record and looked like a runaway winner out of those teams??

It just goes to show that anything can happen and that's why you still play the game at the end of the day. First or Second, just being able to play and enjoy yourself makes you a winner!!

Im sure a part of you is let down that you didn't come in first. But whether that's out of 5 or 50 is somewhat secondary. Like MasterWoo0 pointed out, even the best will have a less than expected moment.

But, did you make obvious mistakes that you immediately regretted or did you just get outplayed by someone who was having a really good day? If you played your game and just got beat by the ...draw/luck/whatever, then you should still feel good.

What you should feel GREAT about is that if you had to lose, you lost to another burn deck and not to a CC-porridge mish mash, as you might expect to normally see.

Top 40%!

I have been there with my local tourney, as well. Except I came in 4th out of 8. :D Nothing wrong with 2nd out of 5. Now if you came in 4th out of 5......

Did you learn anything new about your deck?

My problem isnt the fact that i was second because the guy that beat me kicks ass and is ranked about 40th in all of ireland. Im just a bit put off by the fact that only 5 people showed up. I mean I may have coe in second but that doesnt really show whether or not the deck i was using is good or not.

That's true. But you can only keep playing with the deck again and again until you have faced the quota of decks that you want. its impossible to predict who is going to show up at your local. But that doesnt reflect on you.

However, if the guy who beat you is a consistently top player, then you might be able to tell how good your deck really is. This way you at least know that you aren't facing just jank, but some quality competition.

So, did you keep notes on that particular match?
