Jank Engine v3.0 Beta

I like it. No problem. Oh whats it like using that many traps. I suppose you can dfend each turn. Just wondering.

Yeah, you just sort of sit there and punish your opponent each turn. Agains't standard beatdown it stalls it to the last card. Kind of a painful stall deck for your opponent cause by turn fifty they wish they had never asked you to duel. Then they side in Royal Decree and Jinzo for round two and I side in Double Snare and various forms of aggrivation.

As for Secret Barrel, it very well could inflict a ton of damage in this deck, simply because both players hands get loaded up. But I need something to counter the Warrior and so-called Swarm Decks all together as they are widdling me to death with a lot of low attack monsters. Did a couple of test draws last night and it looks like it may work the way I need it to. Maybe I'll get chance to test run it this saturday.

This last tournament gave me a lot of insight as to what people are playing nowadays and how well this deck runs in the new meta. Royal Decree is currently prevalent and presents a problem for me. That is, at least until people realize that Royal Decree doesn't do a blessed thing for them against another deck type.

Mobius only came up a couple of times and people are very dependant on his usage. Mask of restrict may just yet become part of this list.

Wall of Revealing Light is also striking me as a another contender, as Felix mentioned, but this makes the deck more and more Trap dependant, and more of a problem when Royal Oppression is on the field.

Jinzo didn't even phase me this time. There is enough spell in the deck to make Jinzo go away before he can cause any real damage.

Trample was a problem this time around. Oddly enough, the only time I pulled Scapegoat was against trample decks, not to mention poor draws. Its very hard to pull a bad draw in his deck, considering what the deck does, but it happened more times then I care to remember.

All in all though, I was satisfied with what the deck can do. But there is clearly more that can be done with it. I'm going to try and take a more bare bones approach this month and see how things shape up. I'll post my ideas here in a minute. I may go with something closer to my original build.

I was looking at this deck, to me it just screamed solemn judgement to stop any of those deadly moves your opponent makes, without taking up a lot of space in your deck. That way you can remove some cards, and add other cards that will punish your opponent. Also they can protect your Final Countdown.
The only question I have is what is the purpose of Swords of Concealing Light, if it is just a stall condition, wouldn't nightmare steelcage work better?
Let me know your thoughts

I hadn't looked closely at the stuff from SD-6 yet. And your right, it would probably run better. Swords of Concealing Light aids against some of those nasty Fip Effects, paticulary from those pesky Mill Dekcs that run Secret Barrel. Although Mill was severly injured with the last ban list. Might not be a real priority anymore.

Nightmare's Steelcage would give me yet another reason to pick up an SD-6, as I was considering a Mythical Beast Cerebrus for my Counter Madness Deck. That is another good suggestion that I should have seen. I really need to review the current sets more closely as I'm probably missing out on a lot of possibilities. Thanks again. I need to edit these before I forget.

Glad to help, if you would like me to look at anymore of your decks I would be more than happy to help.
I am also glad to see I am not the only one who likes to play orginal, or themed decks.

Feel free to look them all over. The ones where I've worked the letter Y into the thread titels are the one I'm working on currently along with the Jank Engine and the Counter Madness Deck. I posted these a few weeks ago to try and stimulate some original thinking among the forum members and it worked a little. I think krazykidpsx last two contests have stimulated a lot more originality though.

We are one of the few forums I know of where originality is more often commended then overlooked. We still have our CC players and those who don't see originality as competitve. But we try to make sure everyone gets their two cents in. Very seldom does a deck get posted with 0 replies. Usually someone has one comment to make.

If you do a search in this section for Structre Decks, youll see some of the contest entries for the Create a Structure Deck Week where people created all kinds of Theme Decks and even went so far as to create new cards for the Deck as would usually be the case in SD release.

Now, where did I put those Creature Swaps....

The Balloon Lizards are actually the newest addition. For some reason I've had the worst luck with Stealth Bird. I always run into a Torrential Tribute or something along those lines. He is a great mind game option. A kid at the regionals I went to had one of these and was trying to be funny with it. That is until I Nightmare Wheeled it. ;)

I'm also having a lot of fun with Balloon Lizard. But it depends on what I end up doing with the deck overall. It's had many main faces. I honestly said one time that I wouldn't run Balloon Lizard in this deck. So never say never. You've already got me thinking of possibly variations. :D

So I've made the deck ban worthy, I think.

Now I'm in state of flux. Not sure if the old strategy will hold up with only 1 Spirit Reaper. I may be forced to do a Light Version (as in, less heavy) of this deck to accomplish some of the same objectives. As long as the deck is still painful for my opponent, I'll be happy.

Well...need to remove one Level Limit-Area B from your deck since it is now down to 1 per deck. Other than that I see a damn good ORIGINAL deck.
