Kaibaman WC5-EN002

Kaibaman
Effect Monster (Warrior / LIGHT / 3 Stars / ATK 200 / DEF 700)

Tribute this card to Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand.

The effect says it all for its one purpose. Tribute him to bring out "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand. Unless you're running 3 of both, you won't have the best of odds to make that happen (this is what gives "Paladin of White Dragon" an edge in this context). However, in a BEWD deck, this is about the easiest way to get him out in 1 turn without over-utilizing many cards in order to do so. Plus, being as it's the first "name character" card to come out in the US, it just gives another reason why Kaiba is the man after all. :)

It's a warrior, it's a light monster, it can be searched for by Reinforcements of the Army and returned to your hand by Warrior Returning Alive....It's a bird!, It's a plane....NO!...It's Kiabaman!

the only reason i like Red Eyes B. Chick more than this card is because its a one star with an ATK of 800, while this guys a 3 star with an ATK of 200...

BUT --- His art is awesome and just adds to the "lets try and summon BEWD like hes a 4 star" cause.

Rating:
2.5/5 in BEWD decks --- Theres better ways to get him out.

Art:
5/5 I just love the art on it, dont know why.

In the GBA game "Destiny Board Traveler," Kaibaman is actually a playable character!

NOTE: I only bought that game to get a D.D. Assailant.

Kaibaman appearance

I own the gba game "Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction" and Kaibaman appears in the game as a character in a KaibaCorp play.

Is that the first time Kaibaman appear in the Yu-Gi-Oh games?

Kaibaman is not a bad card, but it should only be use in a Blue Eyes White Dragon deck, or maybe a Dragon deck that focuses more on Blue Eyes.

The funny thing about Kaibaman is that he summons Blue Eyes, while Red Eyes B. Chick summons Red Eyes and Kaibaman is weaker in terms of attack and defense than Red Eyes B. Chick when he summons the stronger monster.

Oh ok I was scared for a second, but doesn't that mean that you had to play it for more than two minutes?

yes, i have heard that destiny board traveler is rather.... well.... sub-meh.

ok, point blank is that, in truth, DBT really really SUCKS! more than Falsebound Kingdom and Duelist of the Roses.

The only advantage of Kaibaman (a card that sucks in my eyes) is that it can be searched from your deck by Shining Angel or Reinforcement.

Other than that, it's a useless card that will only be useful if you also happen to have BEWD in your hand.

I can't stress this enough, Kaiser Sea Horse will hold his own until you draw BEWD and not force you to throw in unnecessary searchers into your deck.

Ok, won't repeat the previous things.

I've got the following: is Kaibaman's effect the same as Red-Eyes B. Chick's? Actually not.

It's

Tribute this card to Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand.

vs.

Send this face-up card on your side of the field to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" from your hand.

Somewhere somewhen there was a discussion whether this tributing and sending-to-the-graveyard was the same, and I forgot to look after the results, but I think they're not exactly the same.

Mask of Restrict would come to my mind as preventing only Kaibaman's effect:

Neither player can Tribute any monster under any conditions.

You know what I mean.

Mäh.
