King Dragun FET-EN036

King Dragun
Fusion Monster (Dragon / DARK / 7 Stars / ATK 2400 / DEF 1100)

"Lord of D." + "Divine Dragon Ragnarok"
As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot target Dragon-Type monsters for the effect of a Spell, Trap, or Monster Card. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand to your side of the field.

Now we're getting somewhere. It's only downside is that it's a Fusion. That said, unlike "Lord of D.", "King Dragun" protects itself as well (since it is a Dragon). Respectable stats and the ability to summon 1 Dragon from your hand each turn makes him a card to definately carry in your Fusion Deck. Being 7 Stars may make him work better in a Red-Eyes B. Dragon themed deck (with Metamorphosis), but he's solid for most Dragon themes.

He's the only reason I invested in Dark Hex.

Dragun PWNS. Solid attack and the ability to special summon a dragon from your hand is lethal, especially if it's Horus LV6 or a Tyrant Dragon.

I've heard some rumours that King Dragun will get an errata to make it a Spellcaster, because the Japanese version is also a Spellcaster.

Are these rumours true?

I don't think so...
Last I checked, King Dragun is a Dragon in the Japanese version.
I might be wrong, though...

From Edo's Yugioh Page:

FET-JP036 DRAGON MAGICIAN KING DRAGOON Light/Dragon/7/2400/1200 Fusion: [Lord of Dragons -Dragon Ruler-] + [Divine Dragon Ragnarok] While this card is face-up on the Field, your opponent can't target Dragon Sub-Type Monsters with Magic, Trap or Monster effects. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon Sub-Type Monster from your hand to your Field.

According to his translation, King Dragun is a Dragon type in Japan.

A nice aid to Horus, Armed, REBD, BEWD, and just plain Dragon decks. The tricky part will be getting him out.

You could run Dark Hex, but that would mean that you'd also have to run either Divine Dragon Ragnarok (which is fetchable by Masked Dragon) or Lord of D.

The problem with that is that neither is a particularly good monster. Ragnarok is effectless, and Lord of D. is really too weak to expect to remain on the field for any length of time. This is the same problem faced if you wanted to go the King of the Swamps route.

Alternatively, Metamorphosis can help here. REBD and Armed decks are probably easiest for Metamorphing, because they've got built-in LV7s. Horus and BEWD decks will likely have to run a few copies of Fusilier Dragon, the Dual Mode Beast as Meta food.

Overall, there's no way it would hurt to have a few copies of King Dragun in your fusion deck, regardless of what you're running.

I personally use 2 Fusilers and 2 Metamorphosis to get my 2 King Draguns to the field. Much quicker than dark hex plus Lord of D/Divine Dragon. I tried running the dark hex, but did'nt work as well. As Strolley pointed out, Divine Dragon is not the greatest. I replaced those cards with Mirage Dragon.

You're right, there are only two spoilers that say that he is a Spellcaster and Light in Japanese... I didn't see the Japanese version yet, but now I see one on Yugioh-Haus and it's a Dark... And when I compare the type "letters" with Divine Dragon Ragnarok, they are 100% the same...

Too bad, I think that King Dragun is now TOO powerful...

Ah well... At least I can destroy those dragons with Tribe when he's on the field :)

This card is great!

I definitely plan on using him in my REBD deck. The combo of REBC and REBD should give a little more speed to bring out a LV 7 monster and then use Metamorphosis to bring out King Dragun. Then on top of that there is finally a good card that can be used in order to bring out Rare Metal Dragon which was pretty much dead weight before.

Dark Hex and Lord of D are both Dark monsters with less than 1500 attack. You could search both with Mystic Tomato and maybe combine the process with Last Will. However, I am sure the Metamorphasis idea would be the best way to get him out. Using it on Fusilier would be fun. Hmm is there any dark Level 7 monster with basic stats less than 1500 attack points? I doubt it, but it would be interesting if there was.

By the way, as a usual visitor of Edo's I can tell you that he will make mistakes on purpose for his translations. That way if he sees companies stealing his translations, he will know.
