Let me see that card!

No, I'm just saying, that it's pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to attack a spell card. Like what happened in that card. And the fact that Mystical Moon (I think that's what it's called) was supposed to be an EQUIP spell just made it more outrageous. But hey, it's the show. Things go about a tad differently than they do here in real life.

Yes, mechanics were REALLY fxxxed up in the beginning. But keep in mind that they were making EVERYTHING up along the way. They made up mechanics so that Yugi would win, because he's the hero (how many battles did you see Ash Ketchum lose?)
Once they put the rules on paper, things had to change so it made a little sense.

And with that out of the way...
How equipped are these people's decks? They don't even have both fusion-materials monsters and they can still get that monster on the field. Why would Joey have Black Skull Dragon in his fusion deck when he got Red-Eyes at the tournament? There's foreseight, then there's bullsxxx.

Ah, but they don't use Fusion Monster Cards in the show (at least in Duelist Kingdom). At least, not when they actually form them with Polymerization (Thousand Dragon and Flame Swordsman don't get fused). The Fusion Material Monsters remain on the field, as does Polymerization, which is how Joey managed to copy it in the finalists duel with Copycat. This can also explain Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and the reviving of the single head. It's wildly wrong, but at least it's consistent.

While we're at it, Graverobber does NOT steal a Summoned Skull. And Copycat does NOT turn into a Polymerization.
