Another great day at work it really is good to get through the xmas period sales were good and high which made it all worth. Though last week i just found out the work gets tougher, the whole shop Im working at is getting a complete revamp everything is being done up and replaced it really brings the whole work force together as a team when you work on such a big project feel rewarding knwoing you have had a part of it.

Well, At last im no my Holiday after two long weeks of work. Im not back to Feb. I get to swap computer's round tommorow. Yay.

The revamp is going well. We have stripped an entire wall moved the entire paint section and took down most of the racking. The builders have come in to laminate the floor. Im quite excited to see what its like when i come back. Well Thats my les tha wekly update. Ill keep you informed on how its goes. Though won't be posting here till Feb.

Heh, I finally got a job. Typical high school student job - Burger King. It's actually kind of entertaining, since four of my best friends work there too. It's great. :D

Cool, Free Burgers. My fave is the Bacon Double yummy. Anyway whats the pay like there I have always wondered!?

Well I haven't typed much here in awhile but I have been busy. During the last 3 months the Shopthat I work at has been updated. I mean its been completely rebuilt inside. All the aisle's were taken down most of them by me. Buliders came in a rebuilt and it looks so much better. We are almost at the finished point. The coffe shop being the last thing they build. Should be done by mothers day. Can't wait to get it finished all the hard work and effort put in by everyone is going topay of. Also we get a new Green Uniform... Nice.

Oh I also got enetered into the Company bowling team lol.. Im not that good but what the hell. So who eles is enjoying work, or vice versa.

Mmm work, way of life, way of getting by :D.... I work with Price Waterhouse Coopers down here in Honduras, im in charge of reviewing security/illegal issues with company systems around the country.

I specialized myself to being a "kinda" hacker thingy guy, I love reverse engineering... though my job is sometimes just hard labor and sometimes I don't even get a good days/nights rest, I still love my job...

Your Job sounds Challenging Slifer. I meananything that involes enginering sounds hard to me.

In my Job I can do alot of different things. When I joined 3 Years ago I was a Casheir. Still am sometimes. Then they decided that I could work on the shop floor. Checking of Orders and the like. These past few months I have mainly been helping with the rebuilding. Carryout all the old heavy bits. Thats more my sortofjob. Any work wereIdon't have to use my head themore I enjoy. I like simple stuff.

It is quite challenging, now what's really an adrenaline rush thing about it, is trying to figure out what you "don't" have to work with... it's weird when you hear it like that, but as time goes by you realize that when you have nowhere to begin from, you don't have anything to work with, therefore it becomes a challenging expexierce day in and day out :D....

"slither" ;)

Yeah, I need a new job. I have been delivering pizzas for a while and it just isn't really fulfilling at all. I need to go back to school and get some more computer classes under my belt. Maybe one of these days I will have certifications to be a triple threat! (Programming, Networking, and Hardware Specialist) I already have a little training in all 3, but all I have to show for it is a high school vocational certificate in Networking (because the CCNA is INSANE!!!) and a Tech School Certificate in Software Design. So far this hasn't really gotten me anywhere though. Any advice from anyone (who used to be in my spot and is now successful) on actually finding entry level work without a Bachelor's Degree? I do plan on getting mine, but it would be even better if I could get a job that would pay for it.

Well you have to start somewhere. To think i started as a casheir. Experience is good. Helps you get more jobs, Builds up confidence as well.

Well I am currently at Target--- I basically can do anything in the store. My main area is Cashier, but I prefer the Food Ave. area though... Jathro, you mentioned you are in Retail. What store do you work for?

I worked in my local Target during the 2005 holiday season in the Electronics Dept. It was a very busy time for us all...

nothing like the tidal wave of people toward the camera booth on the day after Thanksgiving huh??? lol

Heh...all my co workers and myself were swamped with "guests" almost all the time. If you stayed in the "boat" you'd get asked questions about the non-contract mobile phones, videogames, ipods, cameras, televisions, stereo systems etc. And since I was seasonal, I was given almost NO training in any of these products. I learned by asking my co workers.

Worst part of it all was whenever you'd go and get something for one "guest" and a dozen more swarm around you for their attention.

For me, the best place to be was the "MMB" area doing "reshop". It was much more quieter, and much less stressful...although I soon began to detest the fact that so much "reshop" began to pile up due to "guests" always changing their minds at the front counter or could never be satisfied with what they bought or were given.

I know what you mean Magnum. During the xmas period we had cue's that never seemedto end. And the customers well they were everywhere. You tried to put stuff away or out for sale and people just appear. Imhappyat the momment there is a little break until the summer period. There should be astaff stress ball or something.

I think I have the worst job out of anyone on CoG....I'm a slaughterman, and i've been doing it for close to 17 years lol. I started when i was 14, as a floor boy....sweeping up all the icky bits and cleaning the blood off of the equipment. Since i had a cast iron stomach, they gradually gave me more and more demanding stuff to do, and within a few years i was a qualified slaughterman.

at the moment, im on extremely light duties due to a work accident....i got bumped off the legging stand and fell about 6ft onto a concrete floor...busted up my knee and wrist. so for the next1 to 6 months, i just get to do light cleanup work, yet still get paid my full wages :D

more money to spend on shiny bits of cardboard, and i think i'm going to have plenty of time to work on my decks soon, depending on when i get my wrist and knee operated on
