Looking Ahead 23 - Gelnia

Reshef of Destruction must be pretty popular for them to try and complete that set. Can't explain it any other way.

Where From: Reshef of Destruction Strategy Guide
TCG Appearance: Champion Pack: Game Four

As I stated in the Destiny Hero - Plasma reveiw, the video game releases in the OCG contain extra cards that don't initially come to the TCG. As I also stated there, these promo cards could come out almost anywhere in the TCG. Reshef of Destruction had 3 extra cards past the 3 we received with the game (Dark Magician Knight, Knight's Title, and Sage's Stone). We already since got 1 of those extra cards: Satellite Cannon (as part of Champion Pack: Game One). Well, they've did it again. This is the Ultra Rare card from Champion Pack: Game Four.

This card is a non-tribute, weaker version of Vampire Lord. It's equally searchable with Pyramid Turtle, but can also be found with Mystic Tomato as well. Because it will come back, it can laugh in the face of Mirror Force, Smashing Ground, and any other destruction effects your opponent may use to clear your field.

Past that though, there's no real reason to run this card unless you go with a full theme with Vampire Lords / Sacred Phoenix. However, given that both Vampire Lord and Sacred Phoenix both went from Restricted to 1 to Unrestricted, you should see how effective the mechanic is in today's metagame. Plus, given the weak stats of the card, it's far more likely to die by battle in the first place.

2 out of 5. Yes, it's ability to come back is good. However, while that can be troubling, steal and tribute gets around that easily enough (and is what usually happens to most monsters these days). Run it if you want to run that sort of "reborning Zombies" theme, but since it's a CP Ultra, it really isn't worth the cost or effort to try and get.
