I am looking for a program where I can enter to decks and have the computer play them against each other to see which is better or where I can manually playy the two against each other.

Is there anything like that out there?

None that I know of. The best analyzation tool at the moment is our very own Deck Studio, but that stops short of being able to actually play the Deck. YVD, on the other hand, will let you play without an opponent, but there's no way to load an opponent's Deck of your choice.

What you could do is get together with someone, a friend or fellow player, and have them duel you using one of the two decks in YVD. You can do that a couple of times, and then you can switch Decks and get first person perspective on how they'll do against each other.

Barring that, I don't think there are any other options, unless there's something on the Nintendo DS that I don't know about.

Computers can never playtest correctly, Especially relatively new decks take a lot of effort and reading your opponent to be played correctly, The compuer has nothing that can really simulate this. The closest thing you can do is play the video game with a certain deck, but those arent the best opponents for the test. Considering you won't find aster running DDT or anything of the like.

In all fairness, the artifical intelligence for such a program would require a many manhours of programming. You need to take into account that some players take risks while others play it safe. Some players are good at reading their opponent and some aren't.

The video game have horrible artificial intelligence and I'm pretty sure that's the best there is right now.

Tell me about it! I haven't got far enough with WC2007 yet that I can play against my own decks, but with wc2006 I could, and the AI was horrible- it would make plays that a 3rd grader (and I know some good 3rd graders) would be embarressed about. WC2007 does seem a bit better, but still somewhat unimaginative and doesnt know how to play combo decks well. What we need is a heuristic mode where we could teach combo decks. I just know how badly it would screw up a life equaliser deck!

FYI:

I hooked up a laptop to my desktop thru my router and can now use YVD to test play two decks.

Only problem I found is that YVD won't reset properly. it resets the decks but the life points don't reset back to 8000. Been just restarting both YVDs.

Just need a good deck to compare with any deck I build...

Add life and Subtract it. That will bring your life points back to 8000.

That did work each is seeing the other LPs unchanged. Not even trying to reconnect work. Only work around is by restarting both.

:( very bad considering the laptop is a 200mhz win98 slow dog, takes 15mins just to startup win98 and YVD :redface

It was enough to check out eBay for a better one :D

Won one too :p
