Magical Dimension - SD6

I noticed in a Shonen Jump advertisement for The Spellcaster's Structure deck that A card with the same picture as my favorite Spellcaster support card in Nightmare Troubadour was pictured.
Dimension Magic, or Magical Dimension as it's apparently being called now is a quick play card, Here's it's effect as it is written in Nightmare Troubadour (Which should be more or less the same as it will be in the english game)
Can be activated when a Spellcaster-Type Monster is face-up on your Field. Offer 1 Monster on your field as a Tribute to Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type Monster from your Hand. Afterward, 1 Monster on the Field can be destroyed.
I find this a really potent card, especially for decks heavy on spellcasters, since it just says you offer one monster on the field, it doesn't nessesarily have to be the spellcaster that you have on the field to activate it's effect. And it's second effect means that you can destroy something of your opponent's in the proccess.
Let's say for example you have your Skilled Dark Magician out, and you have Dark Magician in your hand, you could set a card (like Sangan) set Magical Dimension, and next turn, your opponent might summon something stronger than Skilled Dark Magician, you can chain Magical Dimension, tribute Sangan, summon Dark Magician, and destroy your opponent's monster!
This card could be a staple in Dark Magician decks, the only real downside is that the summoning of the monster is not the last part of it's effect, so you'll miss the timing if you summon Dark Magician of Chaos with it.
I give it a 4/5

Well... they are token monsters... so as long tahat you have another spellcaster face up, I can't see why can't you! Bloody scary considering its extra removal effect...

Is it just me, or is this card crying for a "limmit me to 2 cards per deck"?

The card text says "offer 1 monster as a tribute"..so does that mean we can offer up a token for Magical Dimensions effect ??

yep..its legal...you can offer a token as LONG as you have a spellcaster monster on ur field AND in you hand...let us not also forget because its a quick play, its VERY VERY VERSATILE...ex:i have a Dark Magician of Chaos in my hand, a Magical Dimension set and a Breaker the Magical Warrior on my field. In my battle phase, i have my Breaker the Magical Warrior atk my opponent's face up Spirit Reaper in atk mode, my opponent activates Sakuretsu Armor on breaker, i can chain Magical Dimension, tributing breaker to summon Dark Magician of Chaos, killing a Spirit Reaper, and get an attack with Dark Magician of Chaos in. i hope its not limited to 2 per deck soon coz i have 3 in my main deck now..:sheep_red

i main deck 3 as well.....good way of getting counters on some of my casters, as well as bring out some of the more versatile casters from my hand

Description: You can only activate this card while there is a face-up Spellcaster-Type monster(s) on your side of the field. Tribute 1 monster on your side of the field and Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand. Then you can destroy 1 monster on the field.

Wow, Just looked at the art great. Great review. Ill have to tell my mate to buy 3 copies he is big in spellcasters. Can't belive how cheap the stuff is. Hrm.. I might be a while where did I put my debit Card!!

As if Gravekeepers needed any more help!
Don't they have enough swarm as it is?

This card is a quickplay, and so can be activated in the battle phase. So attack with a GK, destroying a monster, then activate Magical Dimension, tribute your own GK, pull out another one, destroy an opponents monster then attack with the new GK...

Combo with Magician's Circles for even more advantage... at which point you use Magical Dimension to destroy any 'unsuitable' spellcaster the opponent manages to summon with circle (e.g. Injection Fairy Lily)

I'm really quite tempted to put my gravekeepers deck back together once more.

But Magical Dimension's last line is: Then you can destroy 1 monster on the field. So if I choose not to destroy a monster, it wouldn't be the last part of it's effect. That should mean I can use the effect of Dark Magician of Chaos.

Am I missing something?

It doesn't work like that in Nightmare Troubadour, and I'm gonna say it won't in real life, since there's still effect after summoning, even if you chose not to destroy, you still had to choose.

Seriously, best spellcaster support EVER.

With this Magical Dimension along with Magician's Circle, 2nd best support ever, now Spellcasters got some HUGE support.

I mean, Magician's Circle, I think both you and your foe HAVE to pull out 1 spellcaster if they can right? So that means they have to pull out Breaker/MoF/GK Spy from their deck if they have one and all three are dead in effect crappy cards when special summoned in attack position.

Magical Dimension... eek.

I attack with my spellcaster, my foe chains Saku, I tribute my spellcaster to pull out a better spellcaster. (Best choice would be DMoC, even if I miss the timing of drawing a spell card from my deck. I guess other options would be Chaos Command Magician or Cybernetic Magician... >_> Dark Magician can work... but I don't like adding a level 7 normal monster in my deck unless it's purely Dark Magician theme support, meaning I need to add those 3x Skilled Dark Magician and 3x Toon Tables of Contents + Toon Gemini Elf...) Saku loses target and does gets destroyed with game mechanic not doing anything. Now Magical Dimension lets me destroy whatever monster that was one the foe's field (Even face-down) and guess what, I just cleared the whole freaking opponent's field. Direct Damage time! Heck, you can even use White Magical Hat in this case even if it's a weenie 1000ATK.

I can definately see a revival of the old Dark Magician Deck or a new themed "Spellcaster Cotrol" deck with a varity of different effect spellcasters in the deck and pulling them out quickly with Magicial Dimension. Or maybe those Gravekeeper _+ Necrovalley Deck.

I mean, you can bring back Hentai Lily (Injection Fairy Lily), Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, White Magical Hat, Toon Gemini Elf (If you activate Magical Dimension on your foe's turn while set, then TGE can attack your turn no prob), etc. And You can add stuff like 2x GK Spy (Best Magician Dimension combo IMO. You got instant 2x spellcaster with 2000DEF wall) or even Scapegoats. Add a multiples of light and dark spellcasters for even Chaos Sorceror control in this. (Well, we got the new spellcaster light Mythical Beast Cerberus, this card is decent with comboing with Rush Recklessly to make Cerberus into 2600ATK beatstick in damage calculations.)
