Manticore of Darkness
Effect Monster (Beast-Warrior / FIRE / 6 Stars / ATK 2300 / DEF 1000)
During the End Phase of the turn this card is sent to the Graveyard, send 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior or Winged Beast-Type Monster Card from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard.
As we get ready to leave the realm of Chaos we get ready to head into the Jungles where Beasts far and wide roam. Thanks to "Flaming Eternity", Beast based decks received some great support. Today though we look at one from an earlier set that should be a staple for the deck regardless if you go straight Beast or themed Beast (Beast, Beast-Warrior, Winged Beast).
While at 2300, "Manticore of Darkness" falls just below the "Jinzo" line, but still beats most non-tribute monsters you will see. His recursion effect will also make him one of the annoying cards to get rid of. Since you can choose a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast Type from either your hand or field anytime the Manticore is sent to the Graveyard (not merely destroyed), you can Special Summon him to the field during that turn's End Phase (yours or your opponent's). This ability, when comboed with "Card of Safe Return" can give you extra drawing power (and if you loop 2 Manticores, you can draw your whole deck which is why this is used in Exodia decks).
"Manticore of Darkness" is a very strong card that can form a solid cornerstone in a Beast themed deck.
