Marvel Entertainment: Iron Man movie info

I just heard about this yesterday. I'll buy Downey as Tony Stark. The big question is, will they do the armor justice?

One can only help. The story line at this point is anyone's guess (however, if someone has any inside information I'm all ears ;)), but I'm wondering if there will be any appearance of the original, very crude armor or if it will just be the more modernized red and gold associated with ol' buckethead.

Also, it stands to reason there could be a War Machine appearance, does it not? I'm also wondering if there will be any other Avengers to appear.

I think Robert Downey Jr. will make a great Tony Stark. One of my favorite things about Iron Man is how human he is portrayed. Inside that armor is a real human being with human problems that's battled his own personal demons as well as super villians. Downey has battled his own personal demons, so he could really do well with the character if they decide to go that route.

Here's hoping *crosses fingers*

I hope James at least makes an appearance. Come in and cus or something. LOL I would be thrilled if they mad a trilogy out of it. Do the original armor (or at least a modernized version of it), come in for a second with James taking over for a while and then culminate with one of Tony's turning points. (Lord knows there are plenty to choose from)

I heard a rumor that Terrance Stamp might co-star in this film. I presume he would play Rhodes. Cause you know, It's hard out there for a Side Kick.

I could make a scene on how much i like Iron Man, but I'll leave it at door.

I agree that Downey could make a great Stark. I'm not too familiar with the first armor. I noticed him around the time that the cartoon came out on the network channels(back when you didn't have to pay 70 dollars a month for good TV).

anybody got a link to some armor variations?

Spam stuff: Warmachine was my personal favorite character.

The modern Iron Man armors promote an unhealthy super-buff body type. It encourages kids to take steroids so that they can look like their hero and so on and so on.

Or it could just encourage them to eat healthy and exercise. Can't fault a comic for a kid wanting to take the easy route. Anyway, who wants to be shaped like Iron Man? Those Iron BVDs look like they'd chafe.

Thanks Jathro! That helped alot.

and I agree with DJ. Although with as lazy as most kids are nowadays, Rai has a point also. I just take it on faith that most people do the work, instead of taking shortcuts.

Now this thread reminds me of a quote from a comedian i do not know of...
Stan Lee: I'm thinking of a new villian for iron-man. he is has all of his extremities cut off and goes around in a wheelchair.
some guy: Brilliant! you've done it again stan.

who the heck would fight him? I'm hoping that they might pull the tradition marvel cross-over for the villian because i've seen some of the iron man villians and they do looks kinda weak mabye bring in the vulture or something...

If they do Iron Man, and they stick to form ,then the villian will either be some made up villain or his primary Nemesis, The Mandarin.
