Megarock Dragon TLM-EN015

Megarock Dragon
Effect Monster (Rock / EARTH / 7 Stars / ATK ? / DEF ?)

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play a Rock-Type monster(s) in your Graveyard. The original ATK and DEF of this card become the number of Rock-Type monsters you removed from play when you Special Summoned this card x 700 points.

"¢ You must remove from play at least 1 Rock-Type monster in your Graveyard in order to Special Summon "Megarock Dragon".

"¢ The original ATK of "Megarock Dragon" is determined by its effect. This is further doubled/halved by "Megamorph" and other effects that are based off of original ATK. So if you Special Summon "Megarock Dragon" with an original ATK of 2100 points, then equip it with "Megamorph", its ATK will be 4200 or 1050 depending on your Life Points.

"¢ If "Skill Drain" is active while "Megarock Dragon" is in play, the effect of "Megarock Dragon" is negated and its original ATK and DEF are treated as zero. Even if "Skill Drain" is destroyed later, the original ATK and DEF of "Megarock Dragon" will remain zero.

"¢ If "Megarock Dragon" is flipped face-down, or removed from play, or sent to the Graveyard, its effect is wiped and its original ATK and DEF are zero.

alright, since Shookymaster forgot to review this card yesterday, I'm doing now that I just got in. ^^ Alright, Megarock, good card overall, as long as it is in the right deck. Overall though, in any old deck, this card can downright suck.

Ok, now for some Megarock comboes:
1) Rock Bombardment - get some Rocks to your graveyard for fuel.
2) Morphing Jar #2 - cycle their monsters and possibly Mill them.

Alright, this card has several great advantages:
1) Soul Absorption
2) All the Jar monsters (Cyber Jar, Morphing Jar, Morphing Jar #2) you'll see in Advanced are most likely Rocks.
3) It gets ATK AND DEF points. It can be a wall or a beatstick, afraid of a Mirror Force hitting your 5600 ATK Megarock, make your opponent contend with it's 5600 DEF instead. ^^
4) If you wish, you can just remove 1 or 2 Rocks to avoid that pesky Bottomless Trap Hole and hit for game.

Now, I'll discuss what Megarock players will need to be weary of:
1) Tsukuyomi/Book of Moon - Megarock Dragon getting flipped face-down resets his ATK and DEF to 0.
2) Megarock is unsearchable because ? is unknown.
3) Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer - you can't even get out Megarock Dragon.
4) The desire to go all-out and remove all your rocks and make it HUGE, just to see a Bottomless Trap Hole flip over.
5) It's a nomi monster. You better run Monster Reincarnation.

Now some tips for those of you who will be playing this card:
1) BE CAREFUL! Don't get aggressive and try to play him as soon as you draw him. This will normally lead to disaster.
2) Be reactive with Megarock Dragon. Wait for your opponent to over-extend their hand if at all possible.
3) If you can get your opponent top-decking then play Megarock Dragon, you will stand a far better chance of it staying alive.
4) Wait for their BLS-EotB to hit the field, then kill it with this. The main late game fears for having this card out are BLS-EotB and Tsukuyomi.

The best deck for this card is, not surprisingly, a Rock deck. I doubt this card will/should see play outside of a Rock deck.

Ratings:
Traditional: 3/5 There's too much monster removal here to be effective.
Advanced: 4/5 A hard card to get around.
Sealed Pack: 5/5 This was a game-ender.
Limited: 3/5 Get one, and it'll probably do you good.
