Some time ago , there were rulings concerning this card.
A lot of my duelists in the league, have had some good remarks about it.
There was a ruling thhat said : "You cannot activate this card during the damage step".
I looked it up and I've noticed an example where you can active michizure during the damage step.
This is an example from the netrep files some time ago:
Player A has a set man-eater bug.
Player B has a monster in Attack position and a Set Michizure for at least 1 turn.
Player B attack Player A's monster.
Player A's Monster flips and is destroyed.
Player A's man-eater bug destroys Player B's monster.
Now Player B can activate his Michizure and destroys Player A's Man-eater Bug.
That is why I have my doubts about that ruling.
If you can activate michizure in response to man-eater bugs effect in the damage step, then you can activate it when you send your monster to your graveyard.
Both steps are considered part of the damage step.
These steps being
First : Resolving effects of effectmonsters
Second : Send to the graveyard.
