Milus Radiant MRD-EN110

Earth/Beast/1/300/250

Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK of all EARTH monsters by 500 points and decrease the ATK of all WIND monsters by 400 points.

Today on Kitty week (don't ask), we take a look at a cat from the second eariliest set to hit the states: Milus Radiant. A strange name for a strange, I mean STRANGE-looking cat.

Like yesterday's panda, this card makes an excellent choice for the Rescue Cat effect. More than small enough for the effect and its own effect will want you to make both monster you bring out copies of Milus Radiant.

This little guy is a walking Gaia Power only it also effect weaknes WIND monsters (enemy attribute of EARTH). The effect is cummulative so if you have two or three of these guys, their effects will stack. Two means a Power bonus of 1000 ATK and three means 1500. And that's even including Gaia Power if you run it (and you should).

Most of the monsters in a Rescue Cat deck will be small but with a guy like this in their ranks, whoa, watch out. They'll be huge be you know it.

There are three main problems with this card.

Number one: Its too damned small! Little guy even with his effect is only at 800/250. You could have all three and its still would only be at 1800/250.

Another problem is its defense. Horrible, horrible defense but then again it IS a LV1 monster. Unfortunately its effect has no effect on Earth monster's DEF. Tuskoyumi will easliy walk all over it as will Gravekeeper Assailants with Necrovalley on the field. Zero Graity, Curse of Anubis and the like are also dangers to this guy.

Its card effect effects (need to expand my vocabulary) all EARTH monsters including the opponent's. This power up is useless if the opponent has mostly EARTH monsters or uses DNA Transplant.

There are cards to deal with and luckily it helps other cards in a Rescue Cat deck.

One card is Gaia Power. This thing is small. You won't always be able to get it out through Rescue Cat's effect. It need's as much help as it can get to stay on the field.

Level Limit type B or Gravity Bind will also help keep it alive. You may need time to build your army of furry demons. These cards can give the time.

Another card I forgot to mention in the last review is The Big March of Animals. Nothin' like another surprise ATK boost to throw the opponent off his game. And since it a quick-play and it effects ATK/DEF, activate it during damage calculation where its too late to stop the attack.

In the seal format, don't count on it. Not at lot of ways to get all three of these guys on the field without one dying before you can insure their safety.2/5

In traditional, mass removal seriously hurts it. Much needed support can crumble easily. 2/5

In advance format, this card in the Rescue Cat decktype has its ups and downs but usually proves quite useful unless you go against nothing but Earth decks. Avoid fellow Earth decks and it should do fine considering how special summons will be occuring in this deck type. 3.5/5
