Mirror Force/Strike Ninja

My opponent has Strike Ninja and Solar Flare Dragon on the field, both in face-up attack mode, and my opponent declares an attack, to which I respond by activating Mirror Force. My opponent then removes to dark monsters from his graveyard to save his Strike Ninja. Does this then mess up the timing for Mirror Force and make it fizzle, or does my Mirror Force continue to go through destroying his Solar Flare Dragon. I said that it would still destroy his Solar Flare Dragon, but my friend was adamant that Mirror Force misses its timing.

Thanks

No it doesn't affect Mirror Force at all, Mirror Force will still destroy any face-up attack position monster on your opponents side of the field.

The thing about the phrase "missing the timing" is that it gets used a little too flexibly by some duelists. You cannot miss the timing for an effect that has already successfully activated. You cannot miss the timing for the resolution of an effect. You miss the timing for when the effect can be activated.

Take the Heart of the Underdog ruling for example. The one that talks about missing the timing. In the case that you have three activalve copies, and you draw a Normal Monster at your Draw Phase, you'll notice that all three copies of Heart activate and form a chain. What you miss the timing on is if you draw Normal Monsters for the three effects on the chain. Any Normal Monster drawn during that chain will not trigger your copies of Heart except the last one. But you'll notice, the if the last one results in drawing another Normal Monster Card, it triggers all three copies again.

So you never miss the timing once an effect has been successfully activated. It's possible something to make it resolve improperly, or not at all, but the timing is never missed.
