Missing the timing?

I activate Monster Reborn to revive my BEWD.
I have Rapid-Fire Magician and my opp has BTH.
After Monster Reborn resolves RFM deals 400 damage to my opp.
Can my opp activate BTH?
Was the last thing to happen the summon or the damage?
The damage is a continuous effect so it is not really a 'thing' or 'fact' that's why I ask.

I rather use the word "apply" so it doesn't confuse people with Trigger Effects.

But I do understand what you're getting at John. Gearfried is the first thing to come to my mind when you say that.

Actually it's pretty important to the discussion. We're talking about whether Life Point changes create response points. Continous Effects never have ever had activation points. If they did, then you wouldn't have effects like Fire Princess that would apply 500 damage to a player when a chain block is created that involves multiple life point gaining cards. If it did activate, then it would be considered a Trigger Effect that can be chained to that would automatically activate after the chain block resolves.

So Fire Princess never responds to Life Point increases because response points are activation points for the activation of other cards. At least that's how I see it.
Actually, we're not talking about whether Life Point increases are response points, we're talking about whether continuous effect "triggers" (I like that term, too, John ;) ) take up the response timing to Summons. I say it doesn't because the effects don't use the chain.

Numinous Healer
You can only activate this card when you take damage to your Life Points. Increase your Life Points by 1000 points. Also, increase your Life Points by 500 points for each "Numinous Healer" card in your Graveyard.

This responds to damage but that's very similar to LP gain.

Well, currently I am on the "things of continuous effects are added to the 'last things to happen' instead of replacing them" side.

I believe Bad Reaction to Simochi would be an example of a card reacting to the gaining of your opponent's LP. However, I don't think it's timing has any issues with the original question. Man, I think I'm too tired to post what I actually want to post about this question. Maybe I'll be more awake in the morning. Until then, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to respond to the summon of the BEWD with BTH in this situation. If I'm wrong I'll just want to see the proof. Goodnight guys and gal(s).
