I love VS. When you finally get tired of playing against titans, glock'd, or agl; They change the format. I blew off the some of the dust off my avengers cards to see what decks can out of the set. Plus lets not forget about X-men. I still don't know what deck I'm running for atlanta but I bet there will be some reservist characters involved!!!! I was just wondering if anyone else likes how vs changes formats through the year.

For you guys that get to keep up with the PCQs and tournaments and go on a regular basiss, I'm sure its refreshing. For people like me who only can get out to these things every now and again, it's agrrivating. I like the ability to construct something that I can bring with me three months down the road. I like building a deck and that's it. I don't like this thing where you have to construct something new for ever tournament. I'm not that deep into the game for this to be appealing. Nor do I have this archive of cards to pull from. My friends are stingy with the pratical stuff and the rares. I wish there was an alternative format that was consistant at every tournament in addition to the randomly rotating one. As it is, its getting confusing for the casual player and starting to turn us off to tournaments all together.

Like the quarter system in school, if there's something you don't like, you know that it won't be around for long.

However, like the quarter system in school, you find yourself shelling out $$ constantly to keep up with the changes...

Do I like it? It makes for a nice change, so yeah.

Does my wallet like it? Heck no.

Another good way to stay into the game is to playe sealed tournaments... it only cost 5 more bucks to play, plus u don't need to have a deck when u go there. I wanna start playing sealed, it seems alot more cost affective then buying packs of cards

Unfortunatly, I hate sealed. I'm don't have these card effect interactions memorized before (or even after) the sats are realeased like some folks seem to. The game is fun and I enjoy each layer I learn to it. Unfortunatly, players like me, the ones who can only absorb so much at one time, can't enjoy the tournament set up as much as the in-depth players can. The tournament structure is set-up for those who have the time to invest in studying the game closely. But I'm a much slower thinker. I can't seem to keep up.

I'll consider it. I tend to prefer less or seldom played decks. Which is why I run things like Deep Six or location oriented League of Assassins. I try to take a hour or so a week to catch up on VS news, but seems like I keep missing something. My play group seems to only call me when they need a sixth player. Hmmm... I need to go feel sorry for myself. I'll be right back.

lol.. Ok then. Another deck that most ppl won't play is faces of evil and they got a huge boost from the new set.... viper makes all the weenies just a lil bit bigger, plus the team up. That deck has alot of potential.

actually looking at it from the far away stand point and current magic player having different decks constantly is good. because then the meta doesnt make the game you as the players make the meta.

before it was all the Brother hoods decks, then the GLeE and so on and so forth, now though, you will see stuff go different so thats actaully preaty sweet.

For magic im not far cought up to go and play Vintage but its not like there are alot of tourneys for that there are more Extended / Sealed / Standard than Vintage and thats just preaty sweet either way cause come on.

standard alone holds just as many cards as Yugi does every 2 years, and Extended is like quadruple that and sealed well you know.

but over all I have alot of fun playing Sealed than anything else. Standard formats i love becuase you know but i basically can see what everybody else may or may not play.
