Yep. The Monarchs are getting their own Structure Deck. It's been set to release December 15, 2007 in the OCG. More than likely, it'll be about March or April before it gets here. IF it gets here.

Yep. Here's some notes (AKA, what we know so far):

  • In this Structure Deck, we'll be getting 1 of each currently available Monarch (Yep, that's 1 copy of Mobius, Zaborg, Thestalos, Granmarg, and Raiza.)
  • We'll be introduced to the 6th and most likely last Monarch.
  • More than likely, the new Monarch in this deck will be the long awaited DARK monarch.
  • 5 New Cards in the deck (1 Ultra, 2 Super)
  • First Structure Deck to not focus on Attribute or Type.
That's all we know as of right now. More news as it develops.

Im happy and sad about this.....now i can remake my monarch deck without going broke..but now every third kid at a tourney will run monarch....better stock up on Rugs now...^-^

That's only provided that we acutally get the Structure Deck. And even if we do get it, it'll be early 08 before we get it, most likely.

But yes, if we do get it, I fear for the originality of the game. Everybody who gets their hands on it will run it at least once. XP

Then again, they may pull the same stunt with this deck like they did with the Fairy and DARK Structure Decks and make the new cards and the New Monarch Secret Rares.

Also, we have no clue what this new Monarch is, but I'll bet it's the DARK monarch.
 
im happy about it in a way because i do need to get hold of zaborgs, but it does seem a bit unffair releasing all the monarchs as common cards now that we'v all spent our money on them, whats next, perfect circle structure...
anyway, i doubt it will reach the tcg, seems to me like it will be just like the dark structure deck:hrm:
 
If they have to rob us of two Structure Decks this year like they did with the Light and Dark decks of last year, personally, I hope this is one of them. I would prefer we get all the structures and they cease this silly Secret Raring of the New Cards, but if they insist, let it be this one, as most have indeed already spent a ton of money collecting the Monarchs. Of course, by that very logic, it would suggest that the powers that be would subvert some other Structure Deck, so that they can make more money on box sales.
 
Oh I don't know, I think that this could be a moneyraker also.
Consider that many people, having been to local tourneys, will have seen that the Monarchs are the "best deck" (disclaimer- I'm not saying that, but many people have, and they do seem rather popular at SJCs and regionals...). Consequently, people will rush out and buy three copies of the SD so that they can have three copies of each monarch. That will be (retail) $30-39 bucks spent.
Casual players will do this, and they are in the majority compared to the 'serious' gamers who already likely have a complete monarch deck, so wouldnt buy that many SDs anyway. IMHO.
 
so we don't get the awesome light deck but we could be getting this? so glad local tournies i play in ban all monarchs makes the game soooo much more interesting wish upper deck would limit them or in my oppinion ban them all together

I suppose your local tourney is unsanctioned? Otherwise, they're breaking rules.....rules some players would be very put off by.

Wow, I wish I could play where you live. What I would give to get all the monarchs banned... That's awesome.

As for the dark monarch, he'll probably remove from play a card on the field. The rest of the deck seems to focus on removing from play, and it would make sense. I just hope they limit him to only face-up monsters or to face-down spells or traps. Anything more would be incredibly powerful.
 
I hope this inspires people to play more original decks. As it stands Monarch control has become a fairly common deck type in my area.

Maybe if everyone and their mother is running it then people will get sick of it.
 
Well, if Wiki is correct, the new monarch's effect has been confirmed. And Zaborg will officially be phased out, except as Light fodder for traditional. Here's to hoping this structure doesn't come to America...
