As we always say, video games are a poor source for rulings. They've never been able to integrate all the rules and little details into the games.
It still stands, however, that when you activate Stray Lambs you can't summon again that turn (nor can you activate it after summoning something else). It has absolutely nothing to do with the tokens, but with the card effect.

I have read another posting that said you cant use tokens summoned on the same turn, to special summon using Monster gate
That is entirely dependent on the the card effect in question. If it was Stray Lambs, you can't because the effect won't let you summon again the same turn. But you could the same turn with a token from, say, Cobra Jar.
Make sure when reading older posts about tokens, you don't attribute the restrictions being discussed about
one kind of token with
all kinds of tokens. They all have different rules depending on the cards that generated them. Tokens are just like Normal Monster Cards for all intents and purposes on the field. Other then having no face-down position, your going to be able to do anything with a token that you could do with another Normal Monster on the field. The only thing that will change are the restrictions the generating card will place upon them or you. Like in Stray Lambs case, there are no restriction placed up the tokens at all, but YOU are not allowed to summon anything that same turn.
