Monster Recovery

How much do you draw?

Activates Monster Recovery (6 cards in hand) and targets their Hydrogeddon. The hand and monster are united with the Deck. Do I draw 7 since my hand and monster were united or do I just draw 6 from what I originally had in my hand? Thanks.

I belive pssvr is correct tiso.
sorry to be off topic but what if you used bigger sleaves on a insect deck with parasite parasite in it. Would that be considered cheeting?

No. I have asked that and many other questions in a topic about cases. Apparently, the answer is: If yours are different from the opponent's, get over it.

Paracide goes into the deck face up anyway. It doesn't matter if the card sleeve is the same then.

I mean, I shouldn't have to spell out EVERYTHING about a card. Heck, read the text of Monster Recovery, it already says it has to be your own monster. If you control you opponent's monster, that isn't your own, that's your opponent's that you have under control...

Not everything should be spelled out so clearly for people. Need to make em think. >=)

Yes..and even the card text of Monster Recovery says you can't activate it when you have one of your opponent's cards in your hand. So there for, it isn't a matter if you a card in your hand of theirs, it's a matter if you're attempting to combine their monster with your deck for the effect of Monster Recovery.

Your own monster is merely a wording that means that if you're the owner of the card. If you control a monster of your opponents, then it isn't actually your own monster now is it? It's still considered to be your opponent's, just you control it. That's the tiny detail I was pointing out.

So yes, Novastar is correct in what I was referencing to of Monster Recovery's text.

I figured id do some research...

The old Netrepâ„¢ Files state:

"If "Monster Recovery" is activated on an opponent's monster that the player controls, that monster will return to the opponent's Deck and the opponent will shuffle, but not draw."

"If "Monster Recovery" is activated on an opponent's monster that the player controls, the player who activated "Monster Recovery" will still return his or her hand to the Deck and draw the Appropriate number of cards."

So according to that, you can infact target an opponent's monster that you control, and follow the instructions above.

It would be useful to verify this on the board.

Hmm...I've never trusted the Netrep files as every time I've pulled something from them they've ended up being outdated.

Nova, could you give me more information please? I've been thinking of Compuslory Evacuation Device just now on this. Trying to get text comparsion or connection going on with other cards. That's how I usually make my rulings.

Blah at lunch. I live off caffine and adrinaline......

I can't see any connection on how those rulings in the Netrep file are even accurate. I thought they were deemed outdated and shouldn't be used for coming up with rulings...=/
