My mind isn't working at work

I'm at work and my mind is on it...but I came across a question that I need to answer for someone...I way too tunnel visioned at work <shrug> and not a good multi-tasker...

If a player uses premature / CoTH and special summons Spirit Reaper we know Spirit Reaper is destroyed, however....if Spirit Reaper's effect is a continuous effect (such as with Berserk Gorila) it doesn't use the chain...

So I'm assuming that a player couldn't at any time use Torrential Tribute in chain to the activation of Spirit Reaper's effect.....or is my tunnel vision at work clouding my thought process?

<Disclaimer>
Please forgive my lack of vision of great ones of the City should I have offended you with this question.....my brain is full of numbers and geometry and it NOT thinking Yugioh.

But Mystic Wok is a resolving effect in the chain. Not a completed effect, whci is what makes Torrential Tribute miss its timing. In John's scenario two cards have been destroyed and the effect/events that do so have completely resolved. Two COMPLETED events have taken place, which is what screws with Torrential Tribute's timing.

But the Equipped card being destroyed (that was equipped to the tributed monster is as much of an event as the equip card being destroyed (taht was equipped to Spirit Reaper)

And if one event is not enough to mess up Torrential Tribute's Timing, then there's no reason to assume that 2, 5, 200 of the same event would mess up its timing.

Mystik Wok is creating a chain in response to the summon. What happens as part of that chain link being created will not change the response timing of the chain. The response timing has been established when the chain is started, costs for cards activating in that chain or Continuous Effects kicking in during the building of the chain will not alter that response timing.

John is talking about events that happen prior to a chain beginning. And thus what will be the Last Event that was completed and able to be responded to in a response chain.

"0" is the first counting number.
