Nasty OTK Combo

I was playing yesterday with a guy , I won the 1st duel , he sidedecked 8 cards and won the next 2 duels ... What happened ?

Simple ... He used 3x Cats of Il Omen to bring out the traps he wanted and do the combo :

Mirror Wall + Self-Destruct Button = OTK ...

How do you stop a thing like that ( except of using the obvious Royals ) ?

I thought one way is to Ring Of D. a monster or also using Solemns , since they also reduse your life and negate almost everything ...

Any other Ideas ?
 
ok ... so I am confused here.... Self Destruct Button makes you BOTH 0 LP..... . that would be a draw ... so how is it a OTK ??

I mean logically, you would get Mirror wall out.. leave it there and on that last turn what??? chain Self Destruct Button to the Effect?? IF you could do that it would not work cuz as the 2nd part of the chain it would be resolved FIRST, and if it is resolved FIRST you cant use it cuz that last 2000 arent gone.... and even it it DID work.. you lost your LP first in that case anyway.... So unless I am totally retarded.... I dont see how it could possibly work... please help me understand....

Ok , yes sorry I said it wrong , the combo is for a drw and it is :

Wall of Revealing Light+ Self Destruct Button ...

Maybe I am the retarded....

He won the 1st duel and then he used Wall of Revealing Light paying 7500 to make more than 7000 lp difference , then he chains self destruct , and although the self is resolved 1st makes no diference , because Wall of Revealing Light has a cost effect and although it is not resolved 1st you still pay the cost immediatelly upon activation so when self d button is resolve the conditions are met. He does that twice and he gets 1 win 2 draws and he wins the game ...

ok a good way of dealing with it is wining the 1st duel duh ....
 
If a duel ends in a draw, it does not count for a win to both players. Both players must continue to play until one player has won two games. So in the situation you've described just there, you would still have to continue playing until one of you two win two games.

Moreover, you must pay in multiples of 1000 for WoRL. I'm beginning to think this whole senario is made up. Too many "facts" are way off
 
This actually happened , he paid multiples of 1000 lp to build a difference of 7000 lp and since he won the 1st duel he took 2 draws the next 2 duels and thus wins the match ...
 
I know the deck you're referring to, it used to be used quite often in conjunction in a Last Turn deck. It's extrememly frustrating to play against and I've seen more than one person come very close to losing their cool against this deck.

You can slow things down a bit with Royal Decree but often times your opponent with use Giant Trunade before setting those key trap cards. Solemn Judgement as you mentioned is likely your best bet.
